I like battlefield, but the only proper way to play it is on PC imo. Destiny is bore. Use to like playing CoD. CoD 4 was a very good game, same with World at War the first Black Ops but the series has really gone down hill. The annualization of that series really ruined it.
Sorry, but Deus Ex > every other FPS.
I play mainly because of the story and storytelling and DX hasn’t met an equal FPS game yet in that matter; not to mention the innumerable ways you can do every single mission in the franchise with total freedom.
“You wanna kill everybody? Do that. Wanna play stealthy and spare every single life? Yeah, do that as well, we don’t care.”
If we’re talking about multiplayer FPS’s, I’ve been having so much fun with Overwatch I forgot I even owned Halo 5…
Titanfall
Bioshock to this day remains one of the best FPS’s ever made, I will never forget that game.
Deus Ex as someone above said is a masterclass.
Battlefield is pretty good although I might give it a miss this year.
Use to be a big COD fan but Ghosts burnt me good. Maybe Infinite Warfare will be good (its a long shot but the whole gritty future tech has me intrigued).
Couldn’t stand Destiny and its grind.
Titanfall was good but light on content. Titanfall 2 looks awesome tho.
And Star War’s Battlefront 2015 was a disgrace to the Battlefront name and made me long for my childhood.
Halo is the only game I play.
The FPS genre has been getting very stale IMO. Halo 5 was fun, but still very meh. COD is straight up boring now, Destiny feels outdated and like the worlds biggest scam and I guess Overwatch is kinda fun. Honestly, I never though I’d say this but I’m only really enjoying EAs shooters. Titanfall and Battlefield in particular. I
I have played a lot of FPS games in the past and still do (some more frequently than others). I had a lot of fun playing Titanfall but haven’t really played that in a long time since the population has gone down quite a bit but I’m excited for Titanfall 2. I just finished Bioshock Infinite (I know I’m late to the party, I have a lot of games to play through) and I really enjoyed playing that. I enjoy playing Rainbow Six Siege and I loved Vegas 2 to death. I also like the Battlefield games a lot but haven’t played them that much in recent times but I’m interested in Battlefield 1.
I used to play Call of Duty and have every one from CoD 4 to Black Ops 2 but have not owned one since as they started going a bit downhill from MW3 onwards really but zombies in WaW, BO1 and BO2 were very fun. I have also played a lot of the Borderlands games as I find them very enjoyable. So yeah just to name a few, I guess you could say I like other FPS games besides Halo
Edit: I also got Destiny when it first game out on the 360 but got bored of it a bit quick. I like the idea of it and some of the stuff in the game is straight up awesome but it just gets stale too quick and for the multiplayer (rather than the raids) I’d rather just play Halo.
Been playing Battlefield 4 since I never got a chance to play it when it was new, only $4.99/month too! (Includes all dlc) Waiting for Battlefield 1.
Rarely play cod now, bo3 didn’t addict me like the other games. Might pass on inifinite warfare.
Quit playing gears of war cause the series went downhill. (Judgment & gears 4 beta)
And a bit of Rainbow six vegas 2 when I’m bored. Haven’t tried Siege yet.
Struggling a bit with Halo 5 cause apparently you can’t just have fun. It’s always sweaty, try-hard time. (Even in firefight!)
Overwatch and Destiny give me that class fix. Halo gives me the arena and BTB one.
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 rivaled my passion for halo multiplayer. Other than that, Halo is my jam.
Think? I love other shooters! Mostly I judge shooters with the campaign narrative. If it has a good story, it is a good shooter…don’t care about the multiplayer though. My all time favorite shooters (The ones I can always re-play because of an amazing story) are:
Halo Series - Deus Ex (Except Invisible War) - Crysis Trilogy - Far Cry 3 (only FC3) - Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2Does Third person Shooter count? If so then
Spec Ops: The Line - Mass Effect Trilogy - GTA IV and V
Not really a fan.
Shooters have quickly become my least played videogame genre because of the way the genre has unfolded.
-You have your really old school arena shooters like Quake. Most of them are pretty much dead, and any time a new one comes out it just falls flat on its face. I do find them enjoyable, but I prefer the slightly more modern shooters of the early 2000’s.
-You have your 2000’s era kind of shooter with omni-directional base speed, jumping, hipfire, varied sandbox and unique mechanics. Games like Halo, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and to a lesser extent Counter-Strike. These are my favorite kinds of shooter and yet no one really makes them anymore and the ones that do exist are starting to die out.
-Then there’s 90% of current shooters out there which shove realism everywhere, even where it isn’t needed. Games that glue you to the ground, and make you sprint and aim down sights against slow moving, easy to hit opponents. How utterly boring. Battlefield is like the one and only exception that is actually decent because it tries to incorporate interesting mechanics like bullet drop, bullet travel, and large-scale warfare.
-Finally there’s this new trend of shooter that takes the previous kind I just mentioned and throws in a bunch of awkward mechanics that don’t mesh well at all, in a failed attempt to bridge the gap between classic arena shooters and modern millitary shooter. CoD with wall-running and jetpacks is still just CoD, and the core gameplay concepts render those new features ineffective and pointless.
For me Halo, Overwatch and sometimes Battlefield and I used to play a lot of Quake and UT for multi player but Halo is the only shooter I really play on Console I play a ton of shooter singleplayer also like Doom
I primarily play RPGs these days though or story based games, apart from strategy and a handful of shooter I don’t play multilayer anymore.
