What do you think of Infinity Challenge?

You know, players may or may not agree with me, but at this point, I’m backing out of this challenge. Why?

  1. People going for the War Games, is like putting hours and hours to just be one top while evry1, who has a life, in terms of school, job, family, etc. is basically getting screwed over. I know i probably would have never made it anyway, but I wouldn’t have been interested in the truck cuz I’m more worried about my insurance company hunting me down for money in a way, so thats somewhat of a drawback, as i noticed.

  2. Spartan Ops, same thing, you got someone whose probably been sitting in front of the TV for god knows how long and managed to put him or herself on top, and yet those who “try” to win feel that its unfair. Since I have been trying to reach the top, i just dropped it, knowing that its a complete waste of time, more like a waste of life. I’ve got better things to do, if you know what I mean. Other than that…the Infinity Challenge is nothing but a waste. Even if someone were to win that cameo appearance, here’s a drawback on this one, “Skip Cutscene”. Sound familiar…

But I’m only saying this as a point-of-view, but for those who didn’t qualify, I’m curious on what you think about the Infinity Challenge, is it worth it or not?

The amount of games people have put into both in a week is more than i have put in the past 2 months, it is indeed point less considering that is all it is based on.

It’s a joke. People were at least playing legit all day every day when it was slayer. Now people are going in and and assuring their team doesn’t score the flag so they can rack up more points off kills. It’s kind of crap.

I hate it. Since the first day, I’ve avoided the Infinity Challenge playlist because everyone there is always way above my skill level and I know there’s no way I could win.

A desperate attempt to get more people to try out flagging game modes? The fact that BTB had been more popular than regular Slayer until they added the Infinity Challenge for that additional carrot and stick incentive was pretty weird for a Halo game where regular Slayer has always been more popular than BTB from what I’ve seen.

It’s the same as how they try to get people to try out less popular playlists like Dominion or Regicide through daily challenges, only this time the rewards are much greater.

> …there is always way above my skill level and I know there’s no way I could win.

I agree 100% on that.

I hit lvl 130 weeks ago and even I think the Infinity Challenge is a waste of time. Now that’s saying something

They should’ve awarded entries based on game play and performance. The more you play, the better you do, etc. the more entries you get into the prize drawings. The way it’s currently set up just invites cheats and account feeders into the contest.

You won’t catch me dead attempting the Inifnity challenge.

I know I won’t make it and the time I wasted on attempting to be the best I could have done something productive like watch TV.

Absolutely, thats another reason why i beacked out.

I didn’t bother signing up for it… its a great idea for a promo. My main problem with it, is putting objective gametypes in it like CTF. It has turned into a speed run… I don’t even know if I have been in a game that has lasted til the clock has ran out. Not only that, people are quiting more often, the JIP hardly puts people in matches with the infinty challenge CTF. I don’t think its a bad idea for lone-wolf game types, just objective game types…

I have to admit to keeping up with it although I agree with all of the above statements.

Foremost, I’m just curious at how much of an impact I can make. Unfortunately, I worked myself into Tier 1, the chance of getting one of the top 200 prizes are nil, I’m not playing that much.

Second, I’ve been using the challenge simply to improve my gameplay, which it has quite dramatically. If you take that last statement and apply the comment “H4 is nerfed for casuals,” I won’t argue as I suspect you are correct.

I simply want to know where I stand at the end of this thing, just out of fun.

Again, however, don’t get me wrong, I agree with all of the above criticisms, I’m just planning on sticking with it, that’s all.

You only need to get into teir 1 during the qualifying round to have a shot at the truck.

Then everyone will play during a 2 day period which evens the field a lot.

I would like it if it was based on your skill in game and not how many hours you can no-life on a playlist. I did not sign up since I don’t have the time to play 9+ hours a day, but I think the prizes are pretty cool, especially that UNSC themed truck.

You know, I was really looking forward into the Truck and the cameo appearance, however, like I mentioned, If i were to win the truck, my insurance cost is going to skyrocket and i won’t have the money to pay for it. You know what i mean.

Not sure, but if you win it… I think you have to pay taxes on it to. Thats not a cheap truck either… but i’m only guessing… some places you can avoid it by saying you bought it.

Oh yes…I can imagine my taxes…but avoiding it…I’m not too sure.

33.33% in taxs you have to pay + it counts as Income at the end of the years
Truck is probably worth 50ish so add that to what you normally make and booom new tax bracket

Yessiree…lol.

Anyone else think otherwise…since trying to playing CTF last night was a nightmare?

It’s a Yoinking joke.
