What do you think of Emperyan?

I was pleasantly surprised to see forge version of The Pit. Weapon spawns appear just lik the original I just wish it was BR starts.

Played a few games on it now.

Love it.

The jump / ledge at the bottom of the map works brilliantly in opening up play through that area.

Battle Rifle starts would be lovely, but I don’t think that’ll be happening anytime soon.

I do not like that the fusion coils continue to respawn as the game goes on. I wish they had one shelf life.

but its really sweet to me so far!
i love the colors and it feels pretty good!

It’s my favorite map at the moment! I, too, wish there were fewer or no coils.

I like it a lot too. I dont mind the fusion coils. A free grenade so to speak. Rockets should be toned down to only 2 per spawn and not 4.

Sight lines are completely wrong because of the scaling. Fusion coils ruin the opening push for green/long hall. I like the drop down from sword room to runway.

Hate the scrap cannons. But then again, I don’t think havjng the regular turrents would be any better.

At least the scrap is projectile.

Its a good map. I like the color for a neon look… but I prefer a different color that purple and pink. If neon, yellow/green or even blue/purple seem better in my eyes.

If you look out into the distance, you will realize that we are on a rooftop of a skyscraper in a city. Its very pale out there in detail, now I hope they do what they did in Halo 5 forge maps, where they recreate them we finer detail later down the line to make them more visually appealing.

I think plasma turrets could play better. They don’t kill as easy, even in campaign. But they strip shields really well. And they aren’t as accurate from a distance so close range would be their only advantage.

Plays good by aesthetics wise it’s pretty boring and not well designed. It’s amazing how forger outclass 343 in almost everry aspect already.

For a remake, I expected a modern interpretation of the color schemes as well.

Oh and what really pisses me off: why are there edges in the walls of long hall so you can get your nades stuck in them?! -.-

I think the maps is great - the unlimited playlist has been the only playlist that’s not ranked that I’ve happily played over and over. I’ve even enjoyed playing fiesta on it. I never enjoy playing fiesta.

Now I want them to rename the playlist classic playlist and insert lockout and midship into this such playlist. Ranked or unranked I would play it forever.

I was playing pit today and got to about my fifth games and I suddenly thought - maybe I could customise my Spartan and make him look cool (my Spartan is default green). But then I felt dirty and walked away from the game.

But the map is great. I especially like getting Kong kills at the beginning. Fun mechanic to fight for rockets instead of the two grenades and the one shot to the head or letting a grenade off in green box hitting the fusion coils wiping out who was loitering to pounce!

Although I liked Camo in the middle and the rockets in rocket corridor. It countered a good contest for rocket spawn.

But besides that - a total win for the game and has give me good reason to warm up before playing ranked and to chill.

It’s the best social playlist in the game.

Its a great map but the spawns need to be fixed for FFA (and forge maps in general).

The vibe is way better than The Pit’s. That’s about it.

If I were to guess, they basically don’t agree with the fact that Emperyan is good.

I figured they wouldn’t considering they’ve expressed dislike for most of 343’s creative decisions before. That doesn’t make spamage of the medal system any less annoying but it is what it is.

Emperyan is a lot of fun. It’s a great homage to the original. And plays very well inside Inifinite’s sandbox.

Hopefully 343 will see this as a green flag to produce more classic maps - and only needing minor alterations.

But, if you have a different opinion, we’re all waiting. The stage is yours…

It’s fun trying… although I’ve had a couple of warnings…

As for other remakes; ones I’ve enjoyed so far are Turf, Narrows (Banished), Hang em High, Ghost Town, Ascension, and of course Uneeq’s Lockout.

There was a really good version of Chiron. But I never liked playing on that map anyway.

For new maps I’ve loved A Light in the Black, Paintball, and Shipwar.

For our next weekly session I’m going to hit up Uneeq’s map pack.

Pit isn’t good.

Pit is great. And I’m mad about that.

I can’t put my finger on what it is. The pit is objectively better than most if not all prior infinite arena maps. Is it perfect? No. Is it great? Despicably so. It’s raising my standards every time I play it. I don’t even wanna LOOK at bazaar or recharge right now.
