What do you think made the population drop?

You can’t compare a game’s peak to the game’s population not at peak hours

It’s boring. People would rather play MCC or Halo 5. 343 is competing against themselves, and they aren’t doing so well.

@GusTank04 go ahead and compare it to peak hours it’s a dumpster fire is dropping low

Probably all of these, in this order of importance:
Lack of content (maps and game modes)
Lack of overall progression system
Lack of stat tracking, service record
Lack of pre-game and post-game lobbies (for a sense of social interaction)
Lack of forge and custom game browser
Lack of customization, even if everything in the store was free

Only has dropped 30% more than other f2p games

I kept telling people that f2p would hurt this games population more then help it. Empty promises and horrible monetization mixed in with an overall lack of content and communication from 343 that doesnt dissolve into corpo speak is really pushing many away, and most are waiting for forge to actually play fun and engaging maps.
As of right now mcc does everything infinite wants to do but actually succeeds

And these other f2p games only offer 1 gamemode, even with slightly more content infinite is struggling to keep its f2p audience, and thise sticking with the game right now are most likely loyal diehard fabs like me (top 15% of players with level 100 battlepass and maxed every event out and grinded every weekly challenge) i myself only loggin on now to make sure i complete my dailys and weeklys, someone with no brand loyalty to halo is never going to do that

Some drop of population is bound to happen after the launch window after new game hype has worn off but let’s be honest, there are plentiful reasons…

1.) Gameplay settings pandering to the MLG scene
2.) Shortage of maps. (Forge will not fix this as that will just be different maps with the same boring skin as it always has been)
3.) Shortage of game modes.
4.) Majority worthwhile customisations are behind some sort of paywall.
5.) The customisations there are now offer less choice in how you equip them… e.g. you cant wear a Recon helmet with the willow tee armor colours.

I frequently see posts from all around the world begging for better servers, etc etc
They might not be able to stand the lag.
Game needs regional server selection

It’s also likely that most of the players from around the world aren’t on the forums.

What other f2p games? Destiny 2 has a lot more content than Halo Infinite.

Yeah.
Speaking from personal experience.
Aussies and the uk in particular

I think it’s a mix of reasons. I bet the current Steam player base is mostly playing with controller and the mass majority of players that left on Steam were MnK players. I know I sound like a broken record but, the unfair advantage 343i gave to controller over MnK is a problem.

I thought SWAT would of been a good playlist for MnK to shine, but nope. Controller still gets rewarded for missed shots. Hopefully they add playlist by input soon but either way, Halo is just getting boring. Even the viewership has dropped dramatically. I tried watching some Pro/Onyx controller players and it just flat out boring, snooze fest to watch. I playback some of their kills at .25 speeds and just laugh at it, watch them miss their shots but yet the game rewards them the kill. It’s just a joke.

Lack of content
No coop
No forge
No pve
Btb being broken ridiculously long, not acknowledging it and not replacing the challenges
A ridiculously overpriced store
The 152 award being the wrong skin. Seriously.
Desync
Lack of any anticheat. No report button
Barely any stats
Lousy battlepass
Limited customization
No commendations, grind, etc
Limited maps
Limited gametypes
Actually saying they need to check the viability of adding team slayer.
Etcetcetcetc
And everyone of those points could be further broken down into sub points
This will be possibly a complete game in a few years

Edit- its controversial, but no veto or map vote.

The game is rated Teen. It was inevitable.

The lack of content, the lack of progression, the lack of unlockables, the lack of maps, the lack of weapons, the lack of modes.

The campaign was extremely boring and lackluster for me, repetitive af and a very basic story didnt live up to its hype.

MP is the ultimate reason of why people stays, but even if the core gameplay is fun, the lack of content just makes the game completely uninspiring, vehicles are -Yoink!-, theres like 3 useful weapons out of the whole pool. And the progression is disappointing considering my first unlock is at level 86 unless i spend money on the battle pass.

Halo Infinite is unfinished in its current state, its not worth it. Being F2P just makes it easier to dip.

Some people are finishing things and enjoying the 360 games before they shut down in a few days. Some people play MCC more because you can play 6 different Halo multiplayers, which is a lot more variety than the current offering in Infinite. Also, I’ve noticed PC players tend to move onto new games often. I’d guess the Xbox player base isn’t as big of a drop off.

Even Mature wouldn’t necessarily save it. Look at the goofiness in Gears 5.

I’m sure they are going to make changes but why does it take so long? Isn’t this their job after all?

Why not add this to Master Chief Collection to give us some variety and variation to supplement the lack of content?

Lot’s of things.

On Halos side:
Lack of Content
Connection Issues
Lack of a Roadmap
Lack of an understanding of “Live Service”

Not on Halos side:
New Warzone Content and Events
New Fortnite Content and Events
New Destiny Content and Events
New Apex Content and Events

343 is “Keeping up with the Jones”. They are really late to the GaaS party and not “fashionably late”. It’s more like “Why did you show up to this party?” late.

Edit: Sket7chs reply today, is what they call “Go away heat”. Nobody besides a Halo super fan is going to wait till what is almost Season 2 for fixes.
