crossplay is forced upon us, despite BOTH Xbox and PC players NOT WANTING to play against each-other outside of friend-circles in Custom Games.
inconsistent splash damage causes explosives to be either lethal as normal or to have a person three-feet from a rocket blast to survive with shields intact.
your game starts lagging if you have been playing for a little over an hour and not many realize this fact so naturally everyone thinks the game is really laggy. So if players don’t restart their game every hour, they have lag issues to deal with that just gets worse the longer you play.
despite that previous notion, the game IS really laggy sometimes to the point that I was able to skewer a player three times, and the SKEWER SHOTS stuck to him like darts on a dartboard ONLY FOR THE FOURTH SHOT TO BE THE ONE THAT REGISTERS.
lack of kept promises when it comes to cosmetic unlocks and content in the multiplayer at launch
lack of the ability to play whatever modes you want at launch, but we are slowly getting the ability to choose
event battle pass has an extremely annoying progression system, where a challenge system is required to progress, but even then the challenges sometimes don’t register. “Get 10 kills with the Bulldog” and proceeds to get 7 kills in one match, but only 3 of them registered!
when you complete the battle-pass, you cannot exchange any XP Boosters for XP directly, which should be a given to help boost the event battlepasses. Because when the events come around and the regular battle pass is complete, YOU CANNOT BOOST THE EVENT BATTLE PASS TO GET THINGS FASTER !
majority of cosmetics are as expensive as two call-of-duty map packs.
(it seems the only things Halo Infinite didn’t copy form Fortnite is build-battling and a battle-royale mode)
forge mode isn’t out yet and not going to be out till May
(if there are no delays, but I trust Certain Affinity more than 343 Industries)
beating the campaign on Legendary doesn’t give you the MJOLNIR Mark VI Gen-3 like it really should’ve
(Halo 4 Legendary gave us the Mark VI Gen-2. Halo 5 Legendary gave us jack squat. Why again do we get nothing for the challenge of Legendary?)
campaign unlocks are just skins and no actual armor pieces
WAY too many stickers to unlock in the pass
very few maps at launch
cross play is BS and should have an option to turn it off in every gamemode, but for some reason 343 insists on having cross-play only able to be disabled on ranked
radar is 18 meters, which combined with sprint and thrusters makes it so you can close the gap between you and an enemy within .17 seconds, leaving no time to react to swordfighter and hammer Spartans in fiesta.
(honestly, WHY did the radar get smaller in Halo 5 and Halo Infinite while general player mobility speed INCREASED!? 25 meters was apparently considered imbalanced in a game where players are now moving faster than ever?)
bots that replace players are on Marine difficulty and not ODST difficulty so you basically have 3.5 players instead of 4 in a 4v4 setting.
apparently DDOSers are on the rise as PC players who begin to lose just DDOS the match and ruin all the fun
Crossplay allows PC hackers to play with Xbox players
(it is far easier to hack on PC than it is on Xbox, so now the entire population has to deal with the problems that were usually isolated to PC gamers.)
no split-screen campaign yet and given the false promise of “Halo 5 will have split-screen soon”, a lot of players are slamming their X buttons of doubting.
Lack of a lot of the classic good weapons in favor of newer and more useless weapons
(no one picks up a Pulse Carbine unless there is a challenge for it.)
(real quick… why is it a trend for 343 to make worse guns? The Railgun for example. It is essentially the Spartan Laser… only you couldn’t zoom in, you had to reload, it was specialized for smaller vehicles and infantry rather than EVERYTHING and you got three shots instead of four or five… just… WHY? Next we had the Storm Rifle replacing the Plasma Rifle/Plasma Repeator. The Stalker Rifle replacing The Covenant Carbine. WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING !!!)
none of the weapons you can acquire in the campaign from progression are available in the multiplayer, though they might add them into the multiplayer if they are considered balanced enough… god I pray the Convergence Shotgun stays where it is and not enter the PvP circuit.
events are just other gameplay modes we already have had in the past, while fans likely imagined events to be similar to R6 Siege events where they have a fun gimmick to the game
(honestly, if Tenrai was an event where we had Samurai swords and a Shintoese Temple to play in, this would be a non-issue)
Big Team Battle servers keep having issues.
And that is about all I can think of that will push people away.
EDIT - BUT WAIT… THERE’S MORE !!!
Vehicle Health is now at an all time low
Vehicle handling is now oddly light so much so that I consider the HALO CE WARTHOG easier to handle tight corners when compared to the Halo Infinite MONGOOSE
Plasma Pistol can no longer EMP and it is now a task reserved for the Dynamo Grenades, The Shock Rifle, and The Disruptor Pistol… which the guns take a few shots to get that EMP going.
The Bulldog Shotgun is a horrible downgrade compared to the classic Shotgun because instead of killing in one shot, it now takes two-to-three shots to kill a Spartan. What this has done is made the Energy Sword even more of a threatening menace because now the only other close-quarters option that can defend you form a swordplayer is ANOTHER SWORD, which doesn’t happen outside of Fiesta.
Because it’s just a bad game. Campaign I thought was boring, open world was up there with one of the worst I’ve experienced. The grapple shot was clearly put in to help with the awful map design where you can easily get stuck.
The multiplayer is beyond awful. My expectations for this game going in was super low because it’s 343… Yet they still managed to disappoint. They’ve actually created a F2P multiplayer and I still feel like I’ve been robbed.
How I see it, this game doesn’t offer anything more than what is on MCC, even gameplay wise. There’s absolutely no leap. Might as well go back to MCC right? Logically there’s absolutely no reason to be on Infinite, the relevance and excitement that comes with a new game is mainly the draw but that’s dead now. If I’m going to play a Halo game, it might as well be one that has variety and works.
Microsoft should have done the right thing after H4 and cut this studio off. They do not understand Halo, they play victim when criticised and to be quite honest have turned Halo into a complete joke.
Servers failing to load/work properly for BTB. This imo is a huge one but I am trying to be optimistic given the recent news that this wont be a problem.
Caving in to people that said the battle pass took too long to level only for people to -Yoink!- about it being completed too soon and nothing left.
Ranked being COMPLETELY off because SBMM from quickplay etc would feed into your rating so you could lose all your matchmaking games and still somehow get placed Plat 3.
Lack of content, lack of polish and the pure lack of balance between the kbm and controller community. This game will most likely die by the middle of 2022.
a stack of problems A lot of stuff is broken and there was no communication whatsoever. Being forced into broken stuff to do broken challenges, given broken weapons only to die to broken melee and in the end you get nothing for it anyway. Wears you down pretty fast hah. BTB negates/hides a lot of the problems best but then it’s totally broken and you can’t even play it most of the time so that lifeboat sank.
Don’t look too hard into the maximum 254,947 players, for free to play games that is quite common, you’ll get a high peak where everyone tries it out (especially if it’s from a hit franchise) and then people will move on, so this is quite common. I do believe we are seeing a drop in players though; I think if the state of Infinite isnt fixed soon we are going to see a harder drop real soon,
Not sure but I still to this day am getting matches every time, mind you I do not play ranked unless forced to do so.
As for normal PVP modes excluding Big Battles which I only play if I have to run over players, games load very quick. Playing from Indonesia.
Oh man don’t mention the population dropping, all the 343i white knights will come out and tell you it’s perfectly fine.
We all know the population is dropping quick and will continue to do so unless they add more content quick. The games not dead but definitely needs more stuff to keep ppl hooked
People probably finished the battle pass, once you finish it there’s nothing to do. Not like reach/5 where you keep getting credits or 4 and MCC where you unlock for level completions.
Only other things I can think of are people just didn’t like it or the bugs and other issues are just frustrating.
alot of different reasons even speaking personally i have at least 20 different reasons why iv stopped playing the big one being i already hit level 100 two weeks in
It’s a barebones release with disgustingly immoral monetisation that doesn’t work properly and has been largely ignored since release.
That’s obvious isn’t it?
The bigger question is why are we still here?!?
The answer being It’s Halo of course but if it wasn’t it would be even worse population wise.
…and now they say they’re almost back to work and have started putting together a road map. Errr you mean the post launch period hasn’t already been planned?!?
So essentially there’s your answer:
Horrendously incompetent project management, being out of touch with the player base, a lack of dedication and simple greed.
I have nothing to do more in Halo infinite. We have never free Perks more, if we we have the Gamepass complete. We can not save the Xp like in MCC. I dont want wait of next Battle Pass at Mai. Paying with collected Xp in the shop would be motivating to keep playing.
Weak player engagement, userbase geographical demographics, most folks returning for events, so on and so forth.
It dropped because the game only caters to the people who get their kicks purely out of the multiplayer and the campaign’s solo experience. It’s a reasonable target for a “get it out the door on time” launch, but it certainly isn’t helping that the community support (ex. Forge, Custom Games) and cooperative elements (local Splitscreen) just aren’t there, or at least aren’t fully there.
@GusTank04 Were sitting around 12k at the moment. And if you do the math thats about a 95% drop from its peak. Still think thats normal for a huge AAA title game within 2 months?
