Whats your opinion on the music for halo 4 you have heard so far, do you like it?
IMO I dont like it, i dont think its as unique as the music in halo 1-3, i have never appreciated music in video games until i heard the soundtacks in the previous trilogy. That music helped give halo it’s identity and i had never heard that style of music before a lot of it just oozes mystery, wonder and curiosity i fitted halo so well
but as for the new soundtracks i dont find any of it unique it sounds like the music i would hear in a hollywood movie/trailer that would be played in a cliche intense action scene like the parts where it goes “DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN” it just dosnt seem s creative as what i have heard before in halo,
Many halo fans could immediately identify any soundtrack from the previous trilogy and exactly what levelit was played on, but i feel the music that has been reveled so far could easily be forgotten and not realize that it was actually in halo 4, thats what i mean by it not being unique and failing to give the new trilogy it identity.
another thing i loved about some of halo’s soundtracks is the one like the mausoleum suite, black tower etc with the voice talking backwards and when its reversed we got a secret message, that made me think who is that, what does it mean, it just filled my head with mystery and curiosity i loved the cryptic-ness in halo.
i am not trolling, hating or flaming im just a little worried, i still have faith in neil davidge but at the same time that faith is rapidly fading and i am still very much excited for halo 4.

The music sounds awesome.
Are you high? The music IS unique and just flat out wonderful! I always catch myself humming it or whistling it! It’s astonishing!
What I also like, is that, in on vidoc, you can hear the classic melody of Halo played by cellos and basses, and it sounded EPIC. And, do not fret, there will be the “monk chanting” (I forget which bulletin I read it in, for it has been ages).
The music is going to be astonishing, and I am DEFINITELY going to be buying the OST.

i know im giving a negative comment but im not giving it in a bad manner or anything, i personally am not feeling any connection with the music, from what ive heard i dont think way down the line long after halo 4 i’ll be saying “yes i remember that thats from halo 4” but maybe my opinion i have now will change, i hope it will change.
it sounds so Chief, though. The music we’ve heard so far is epic.
In Halos 1-3, any time you were around Forerunners there were monks singing. I think this was because the Covenant worshiped them, thus the monks.
Now in Halo 4 we are seeing them for what they are, a highly advanced civilization, hence the reason for the more tech sounding music when we see the large sphere.
It’s a different approach to the sound of the series, just like how Halo 4 is a different approach to the Halo series. I’d much rather Neil Davidge try to do something unique and different than to try to emulate a huge orchestral Marty soundtrack.
i agree i myself am not a big fan of the music so far

This but I do agree with the OP, it’s not near as unique as the previous Halo titles and just sounds like a generic action film. Lets hope it gets better. I’m also hoping they use a lot of the soundtrack from previous titles, it’s sad to see it go to waste when it could be used on something.

You, sir, have gained my respect for not bashing blindly, then.
I commend you! n.n

thanks mate, its pointless for anyone to blindly bash it because its not allowing people to sit down and discuss things.
Music sounds fine to me, not ODST level yet but sure sounds good enough
> Music sounds fine to me, not ODST level yet but sure sounds good enough
yeah odst music was very good, it really added to feeling of the deserted streets and that you were alone, very empty and quiet feeling.
from what ive heard i like it. it has the halo feel and is fresh and new
is not THAT awesome but i like it.
> is not THAT awesome but i like it.
i like the music too, but it dosnt seem to fit in a halo game.
It sounds great, perhaps better than the previous music.
