Can anyone else explain what 343 was thinking? A strong Female charachter is fine but Palmer is the worst type of charachter. She does nothing but make women look bad, annoying and immature.
1-She’s a brat
2-She’s not respectful
3-“Eggheads” (need a say more)
Remember folks. John, and all the original Spartan II’s died/went MIA so Spartan 4’s could act like frat boys on vacation.
I like Palmer, she was fine in Campaign and whilst she is sort of annoying in SpOps I’m not bothered by her
And to address the “She’s not respectful point” neither was Johnson but people like him
She just seems too immature to be a Spartan, let alone the Commander of all of the Spartan 4’s. She calls all vehicles and weapons “toys” and scientists “eggheads”. I guess 343 did this to make her sound tough and cool, but it failed badly IMO.
She’s by far the stupidest character and worst leader I have ever seen. Faced with the decision to kill the leader of the Covenant remanant faction, who is also the Didact’s Hand, and the most brilliant civilian scientist, who saved humanity with her Spartan project, she chooses to shoot the civilian… And then she throws a whiny fit afterwards… That is not professional, respectable or likable in the least bit. How could a woman as immature as her ever become leader of the Spartan-IVs?

This person is worse
Palmer is my favorite character since the ODST squad.
I feel like if Palmer was a dude, there wouldn’t be as many people calling her “whiny” and “Yoinky!”. :\
Incidentally, I don’t have much of a problem with her… but then, I’ve only seen her in Halo 4, not Spartan Assault. I will say that I’d like to see a bit more snarky wit from her. In my first Spartan Ops match, I got splattered by a teammate, leading her to quip, “Beautiful, Crimson.” The tone and timing were perfect for the moment, and more of that would probably be amusing.
She just isn’t a well-developed character and Initiation certainly isn’t helping.
Palmer is okay by me. I just think that 343i is pushing her too much on Halo players.
Palmer was poorly developed and is nothing more than nuisance.

No, it’s not that she is a woman. Palmer is just flat out an annoying character.
For one, Johnson never called scientists eggheads all the time.

lol Johnson would have made a nickname for them too and everyone would love it.
> lol Johnson would have made a nickname for them too and everyone would love it.
Why would he? Palmer only does it because she thinks they make her feel dumb.

lol you don’t know that.
Don’t look for sexism where there isn’t any.
For reference, check out some of his famous quotes, and compare it to Palmer’s:

If Palmer was a dude, than she would be similar to the scientist in SpOps. I dislike him the same as Palmer.
I like her. Is she condescending with a bit too much testosterone flowing through her viens? Yes! If they wanted a likable, strong female character in the game, they could have model her after Veronica Dare from ODST. But that would have been too predictable. The fact that there are fans that like her and fans that are totally irritated with her makes her interesting. It’ll be interesting to watch her character development over the arch of the series. They set her up to be antagonistic, but will she end the trilogy that way? They’re building her up for something big. Why else would they showcase her in the Campaign, Spartan Ops, and Spartan Assault. They could have easily developed other Spartan IV’s for those roles, but they didn’t. I can’t wait to find out what they have in store for her and what effect she’ll have on the Halo Universe.
I HATE that -Yoink-. Worst character ever.
Also, eggheads.
She is an intressting character and the voice actor is voiced by the same voice actor who did shepard i feel like she can become a great character with that voice if they improve her but the word egghead is like the new censored word for bad words that needs to go in my opinion but overall they did a good job on her.
i find it funny when people get’s mad at her for doing her job in spartan ops.

At least after episode 5 she never mentions that word again

I gotta say, there’s a difference between light-hearted and insulting. Johnson was the former, Palmer the latter. The only person we see Palmer even act human towards is Lasky. Johnson on the other hands was friends with pretty much everyone.
And lets face it, did Johnson try to murder the frial scientist instead of the 8-foot tall alien ringleader? Johnson also wasn’t one to throw a childish temper tantrum, but as we saw from Palmer after failing to shoot Halsey…
I mean, overall Palmer isn’t the worst character ever, but she’s hardly fit for Commanding Spartan Officer aboard the UNSC Infinity.
