I don’t think it matters since the ranks don’t really do much, I for one feel very able to keep up. Also, what of those like me? I’m 3 hours ahead of where the servers are. I’ll be getting the game 3 hours before a lot of people. That’s still an unfair advantage, isn’t it?
What does it matter that there are people with a higher rank than you? That sounds like a personal insecurity matter to me. I’m not trying to be a jerk here, but out of all these posts, I’ve yet to see someone give one viable reason why they should be reset.
I don’t have the game, but I don’t think ranks should be reset. It has 0 effect on me and what I’m doing. To me this whole thing boils down to a maturity issue, and it’s tiring to see so many feel they’re being cheated, when in fact they aren’t.
there might be a few hundred people that are already SR-30, but there will be around 1 million that are at SR-1. and even if you play with someone that is SR-50, they wont have an advantage over you because of the defalt loadouts
> I don’t have a problem with them not being reset, doesn’t affect anyone that much. People did put their time into and used up their double exp, so i don’t see why it should be taken away form them.
Double XP from the Doritos and Mountain Dew promotion isn’t available until the 6th. So half of your reasoning is invalid.

Which is more reasoning than to reset ranks. Statistically, you won’t meet anyone who’s been able to play pre-release anyway. And DewXP makes ranks meaningless.
I could care less. It’s actually a good opportunity to see if the TruSkill system works as those who have been playing will be a different skill than those just starting (who should be at 0). Hypothetically, we shouldn’t be getting matched with people who have had the game for a while.

Except for the fact that people have already been using their DexXP. But other than that…yeah.
Doesn’t really matter to me, if they obtained the game legitimately, and put their work into their rank, they should keep it; even if they got the game a bit early.
However, people with leaked copies should be banned on the spot, or at least be reset. Which, I think happened already.

So if a poor player has been playing for 2-3 days and has SR-30 gets matched up with a decent player that has been playing for a few hours is that fair?
So No Rank reset is official or not I think 343 will still reset on launch day or a little before after all they always did a reset on ranks for all the halo games and on top of that I think its a little bit unfair and im pretty sure they know that.
They should reset the ranks. It’s unfair that the people that downloaded the leak or whatever got to play it. I don’t care really. But I don’t think its going to be fair for those people that are high level. Doesn’t that mean their going to have all these new weapons and armour ect before us?

You’re so right. The odds of that horrid SR-30 matching with a good player are SO good. Especially since he has already established a bad TruSkill rank. And the simple fact that 1,000,000 new people will be logging on to flood the 1000 that have the game. Good logic. Which is ironic considering your name.

I’m pretty sure I saw Machinima use the double XP on a live stream. You’re wrong, bud.

As you gain XP, you can use it to unlock weapons to include with your loadouts. They might match SR-30 players with SR-30 players, ect.

Quit assuming that it absolutely won’t happen. With those numbers, playing a playlist with 8 people (4v4), at least 1/125 games will have a player that got the game early. And I can bet with confidence that more than a thousand people got the game early so the odds are even higher, if we could get a true number of how many people got the game early we could head over to vgchartz and check the preorders and figure out the odds again, but that’s not going to happen. Care to call me out on my logic again?

I would actually. You’re under the assumption that getting the game earlier somehow makes people better. There’s fully-stocked loadouts waiting for the “new kids” to use that will make them competitive until they unlock the DMR/BR (SR-2) and their AA, tactical/support. Which, I believe, is only SR-14? So I don’t get what the big deal about being matched up with people who have had it is in the first place.
