What do you think about Halo Infinite beta

What do you think about Halo Infinite ?

honestly, it hasn’t blown my mind at all. academy was fun for a few minutes but got dull fast, so i jumped into bot slayer, didn’t like the map, sadly you have to play that map to then play the new map that just unlocked. i just want to choose the new map only but you can’t.

i love the new guns and gun play feels solid however performance issues and crashes makes this game unplayable, also the high hardware requirements will make it hard for halo to compete with other arena shooters, i hope optimization is their main focus for launch

You play on xbox or PC ?

Performance on PC is okay, but a little sluggish? I’m getting some weird visual bugs at the bottom of my screen at times. The Academy is cool for testing out weapons, but eh. Bot slayer is good for warming-up before jumping into MM. Really like the addition.

Gameplay feels like Halo 5 turned way down to get closer to Classic level, which is all I can ask for, I guess. I do want to see how BTB plays. Maybe in one of the next flights.

Its really good, way better than halo 5 so far. I hope BTB actually is more improved than halo 5.

Good things:

  • Sandbox more focused such as spartan abilities nerfed and equipment’s are back. - Some of new weapons such as heatwave, skewer (all though im so bad at using it) and ravager. - Customization is so good, I love it. - Post game stats is great again as now after game ends it shows medals and explain what it means unlike halo 5. - Plasma pistol sound actually is back to normal. Also love the battle rifle. - Spartan looks - Academy is great feature for new players. - Battlepass all though im not a fan of it, its better than most games as they won’t expire.I cant think of more.

Bad things:

  • Bugs such as matchmaking and academy sometimes not working. Yes i know its just a technical preview which I get but I hope they address the problem and fix it before launch. - I am not a fan of bulldog. I just find it more boring and more generic and I honestly still prefer classic shotgun over the bulldog. - Most weapon sounds I don’t like. I only liked the plasma pistol, BR, ravager and I can’t think of more. - No assassinations at launch - I still don’t like coatings so far. I hope they add more free coatings such as simple colors. I still think its a downgrade from primary and secondary colors and feels more limited as previous halo games we could choose whatever color we want in primary and secondary. - Removal of red vs blue, i know theres color shields but I dont like them in general.I have so far enjoyed the technical preview. I been having a blast with it.

‘WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT HALO INFINITE BETA’

I don’t know - we aren’t playing a beta yet?

It’s nothing like halo multiplayer used to be. Just bring back the halo reach/3 feel of multiplayer. Stop trying to keep up to date with all these other FPS games. Halo used to feel separated from other games like Call of duty and battlefield, and now halo is just following in their path.

So many things wrong with the game… shotgun not a one shot kill. Melee attacks are glitchy. Maps are so small and congested. Makes me feel like it’s COD. SMH had high hopes. Hopefully they fix it. Right now I have halo 4 being better game. That’s saying something.

The game is a step in the right direction but it needs a lot of work. There is a massive list of issues. I suspect the game will be better six months after launch and will struggle day one.

I’ve been playing for a bit now, it reminds me of Halo 4. It’s good but what’s new? The default sprint in the game adds getting spawn camped with these teeny tiny maps. Also, the default controls for a controller make 0 sense. Maybe that’s the fact I was expecting something similar to Guardians or a mix of Reach controls but I hate the B for crouch and the default sprint in general.

Maxed out my battle pass last night. Pretty fun. Not digging the way objective modes play though.

This beta is cringe, but I’m trying to stay optimistic since I’m playing on the One X, not a PC or Series X.
Is it just me or is anyone else disliking the movements in general? Certainly does not feel as smooth as Halo 5 or even Halo Reach.
Wish the map sizes were a tad bit bigger for 4v4 matches - almost seem smaller than Halo 3 maps. I guess I should wait to see what BTB brings to the table this weekend.

I was not overly impressed. Didn’t fell at all like Halo. The grenades and explosions in general were way underpowered. The weapons all felt off and not at all fun to use (why rush for a power weapon when you are just as likely to get a kill with the AR?). Size of maps on 4 v. 4 leads to constant spawn camping. This game feels way more like some other FPS or just geared to maybe the top 10% of the FPS market.

I will give it another shot this weekend but if this is indicative of the final product I would likely pass even though it will be on Gamepass.

Nothing felt quite as weighted as other Halo games for me I suppose. Still prefer to just play MCC.

Nothing just like my email when it got no invite

Totally agree. The grenade splash damage seems like they aren’t registering or something from my perspective. I see people walking right over my grenades and not dying, but if I die from a grenade it’s like 10’ away?.. Typical beta testing I’m sure. The AR is insane - makes me rethink of using a pistol when compared to Halo 5 multiplayer.

Map sizes being seemingly smaller than Halo 3(?) definitely will be quick spawn flips or if you happen to spawn there will be an enemy not too far away to get a quick and easy kill, because you are not expecting it.

So far, it’s been more negatives than positives for me.

I didn’t play it but I hate it from what I saw on YouTube (no decent sprint, byebye thrusters at will, no ground pound… ) “Crying walkers” definitely buried those options with their complaints to 343i.

And sorry for telling this to the ones who will say “you are the only one to not like it” but there is a pool on YouTube showing that 57% of people don’t like it as it is right now (type “halo infinite is bad” on YouTube and you will get to that pool…)

and I m not mentioning the terrible optimization on PC (55 FPS with a rx 6900 at 4K ? seriously? )

So far not impressed. Even with big team battle. Sounds are dull compared to halo 5. I dont feel im in the game. Dissapointed so far that i have the feeling ill continue playing halo 5 for a while

The most vanilla halo game out there. The equipment besides grapple hook (which gets old real fast) is not a game changer. Halo infinite is like watching basketball in the 60’s whereas halo 5 is like watching basketball in the 90s/00s.
