I really like halo 4, play it everyday. I have been playing halo sense the first game and enjoyed all the halo’s. The beginning of halo 4 was pretty bad but as the game progress it started getting better. I really love the story it fits right in the universe. I like the war games base and how it plays out. The forge isn’t that great nor the costem games but people learned how to adapt and make great costem games. Spartan ops was alright but not a fan of it, I only like a couple of episodes. I can understand if some people don’t like it. But i think the reason for that is no one dose costem games or the get compared up with trashy players. If that’s the case don’t let them win by hating the game.
I enjoy as much as I did before weapon tuning, I have fun with it, I’m not a big multiplayer guy, but hey, I have fun with it, the Campaign was amazing and find myself returning to it whenever I’m on Halo 4, I enjoy SpOps much more than Reach’s Firefight
Well I wasn’t happy with H4 to begin with but I did go back to it for a bit, I don’t see why people are mis-leading people into thinking it’s major change. H4 has way too many problem’s, I have said this before but I think h4 is too far gone for recovery, mainly hoping h5 sort’s out the problem’s.
I think halo 4 can recover, The more i play it the more i enjoy it. I think its the people who are ruining the game. I wish the old halo fan like us can come back and make halo 4 more fun.
I think:
Great Campaign
Spartan Ops was good
MP is still not very good, but i have been enjoying it recently!
To me halo 4 is a bit like when you buy a new ford. It turns out to be a bit of a dud, but you keep driving it because it’s a ford. And your old ford has passed its use by date.
I think if Halo 4 shipped like it is now with all the patches, the complaints would’ve been kept at bay. The multiplayer is back on it’s feet again with the new playlists. The 4 shot BR really saved the ship for me along with the rest of the weapon tuning updates.
The sad part is that the weapon tuning came too late. I have plenty of friends that maxed out beforehand, and have already sold their copies of Halo 4.
Spartan Ops is still alright. It’s a good way to break up the monotony of the other multiplayer gametypes. In my opinion, they really should’ve just kept firefight.
I’m still happy that they are keeping up with the lore though. A bit of the cryptic parts of the game are gone, but Bungie set the bar really high on that front.
I posted this in a different post, but don’t feel like typing again, so I copied it:
343i made a mistake with the ranking system I will admit, however the rest of matchmaking isn’t bad at all, especially now that it’s more balanced. No HALO has been 100% balanced by any means, especially 2 with all the glitches you could do, even 3 at times. Now, the gametypes may not be as good to most, they are trying to be innovative with them and haven’t found the best kinds, yet. If they all mimicked HALO 2 and 3, people would whine about how they just copied Bungie or something or the other and aren’t anything special blah blah, think about it.
The campaign was great with great graphics and music, Mantis was fun and IMO the Broadsword run was too. The story was a nice, darker story than the first trilogy, IMO.
Give them time.
My only complaint is the in-game ranking system as I mentioned in my previous post.
I’m just going to make it short and sweet. (Note, this is regarding multiplayer and nothing more).
The game has improved its mechanics but the gameplay and playlist options still suck. Customs are still lackluster, creativity is still largely un-rewarded and frankly the game just isn’t fun for me to play.
That’s not to say you should dislike it of course. I just personally don’t enjoy it.
Ever since the Weapon Tuning Update and Slayer Pro’s return, I’ve been liking it a whole lot more.
Had the game been released like this, it most likely would have retain more of a population.
I hope 343 takes the time to release a more polished product from the start the next time around.
Still rather negative. Haven’t played multiplayer since November and I’m not planning to change that anytime soon. I don’t know what the updates are like, I don’t even know what the original game was like.
It’s just dead.
IMO

That’ll never happen because the classic fan’s wanted it to be like proper halo game’s but the problem is if for some strange miracle, it did get better (very unlikely since too many to say) then the people who were enjoying h4 would end up complaining. My point is you can’t please everyone, the thing is they should have been focusing more on the classic fan’s and not the casual gamer’s that will play it for a bit then stop playing, to get those fan’s back they need to get back to the root’s even if Halo 5 get’s delayed because Halo 5 is like the decider of if 343i truely learnt from what they did wrong with h4.
Halo 4 had a great and amazing campaign. It fell good to be back in Master Chiefs shoes again, and the added fiction behind everything is interesting. When Halo 4 launched it was fairly good. Of course it had problems here and there but I enjoyed it all. Until the weapon ‘tuning’ update a few weeks ago. I used to be fairly good. Rarely did I ever go negative on my K/D and won most of my matches. Not trying to sound badass, just I considered myself good.
Now with this weapon update I getting face slammed like every match. When I play Infinity Slayer (the playlist) all people want to play is Slayer Pro, which I find on some maps is just a grenade fest. I’ll admit the BR finally feels like it’s on par.
I really wish 343i would make a ‘classic’ playlist for those of us who enjoyed the original Halo 4 experience.
I basically refuse to play until they fix the spawn-happy power weapons and vehicles. Can’t stand it.
The game is bad enough with custom loadouts, personal ordinance, and instaspawn without having to worry about a gazillion PW and vehicles floating around.
I am tired of the lack of communication on 343’s part. They update the weapons, fantastic. Then they ruin the maps. BULL -Yoink-. The game went from tolerable to un-tolerable on June 3rd when the game was supposed to be saved.
The big selling point for me was the 10% speed increase along with the killtime increases. Combat is much more fluid, sprint isn’t as essential either, automatics are deeper, and although I still use the DMR the other weapons are useful.
And now that there is a DLC playlist I can play on good, developer made arena maps.
For me, the game has improved a lot.
The story is still one I don’t find too appealing. The multiplayer has improved, but custom games options need improvement.
I never had a problem with the campaign or Spartan Ops. But the online multiplayer is MUCH improved from launch. Honestly, the only major gameplay gripe I have is the flinch/lack of de-scope but I’ve come to terms with it for THIS Halo game (I’m sure the next Halo game will have de-scope). For searching, the CSR system for finding matches is still kind of broken. I’ve been playing a decent amount of doubles for the past few weeks. I sometimes go into doubles by myself but still get matched with teammates and -even worse- opponents, as low as level 1 (I’m in the 30’s). Don’t get me wrong, I do occasionally get some great matches. But some of them are terrible and CSR for team based playlists was supposed to be the fix.
Here is an example from today: Lopsided CSR Doubles Match
And I know the population numbers are low, but it should still be better than this. The game linked above was when the playlist had over 800 players (which is fairly high for doubles as of late).
My Top 3 Favorite Halo games before Weapon Tuning:
- Halo 2
- Halo 3
- Halo 4
My Top 3 Favorite Halo games after Weapon Tuning:
- Halo 2
- Halo 4
- Halo 3
(Halo 3 and Halo 4 were close together before, but the weapon tuning took the cake) That should simply explain it for me.
