We’ve seen forerunners in their armour, both lifeworkers and warriors but how do you think they will appear without their armour. They have a close resemblance to us humans, but they mutate as they age and reach different levels of maturity. Here is my take on the Didact without his helmet (given that the purple armoured figure shown in origins is the Didact):

No thanks. I’ll take the armor. Makes them look more like the galaxy-dominating empire they were rather than the Creature From the Black Lagoon.

What makes you think that’s a Forerunner face? It looks far more like a cross-section of an infection form.

Well according to Cryptum forerunner armour takes hours to be assembled properly as small engineers work on the armour to make it fit perfectly… in the book it even says ‘It took an hour for the armour to grow up and around me’.

Indeed Cryptum says that, but you are using Origins as a base when we know that it isn’t artistically correct. Not to mention they Only look Human like as Children.

I considered that at first also, but it didn’t appear like an infection form as it had none of its distinctive features such as the 3 sensory things they use and the many legs along with the elongated bluber sack.

I’ve got to agree with Deva Path, it looks like an infection form. Maybe that’s showing a side by side comparison of a normal infection form and one they have tried to kill biologically.
Forerunners and humans look VERY SIMILAR according to the Forerunner saga, both physically and genetically.
I kinda imagine them like the original Asgard from Stargate before their cloning messed up.
I always pictured them like the typical alien we think of today.
Tall. Gray/green. Big head.
That’s just how I always pictured them and not what I actually think they look like.
I always thought of them as an avian/reptilians species (kind of like the Skirmishers).The bird-beaked helmets Didact and other Promethean Generals wear probably gave me that impression.
IMO, it’s probably better that they are masked. This is just me, but describing unmasked Forerunners ruined the mystery and reverence the galaxy had over them. Actually, the books made them seem like galactic Yoink!s
