What do you thing about the Spartans IV?

i am the only one who thinks they are ridiculous?

I think they are a cool and realistic idea. I doubt the UNSC would keep on using kids when the casualties of the II’s and III’s proved too high a cost.

I used to hate them, but over time I’ve come to terms with what they are and I appreciate what they represent. They are normal people and predictbly act as any normal person would when given the next-best thing to super-powers and power armor. Some are brash. Some are professional. They are human and that is a step-up from the distant almost non-human Spartan-IIs and anger war-orphan Spartan-IIIs.

I think they ruin the idea of Spartans completely. Spartans were highly efficient soldiers. But they came at a cost. The amount of training and operations that went into each candidate was ridiculous, they had to kidnap children to make them for god’s sake. Their armour would literally kill a regular soldier.

Now? Wanna become a spartan? Just sign the dotted line and away you go!

No, you have to be an already accomplished soldier to become a Spartan 4.

The Spartan-IVs are the next logical step of the Spartan program. The IIs were great, but there were never many of them. The IIIs were great, but they were treated as expendable weapons rather than Spartans. Now we have gotten to the point where normal people can be made better than they were. They aren’t all going to be Master Chiefs, but they hardly disrespect what it means to be a Spartan.

But they are in war, and they still makes jokes and talks to each other like they are in a party. They aren’t charismatic and have no personality

They act very childish and ruin the name SPARTANS. Now I know that they weren’t stripped of their humanity like the II’s but come on the way they act after the match is just annoying.

Whoopie-di–Yoinking!–do, professional soldiers already do that in war. And Chief was hardly charismatic or had a personality, yet I didn’t hear anybody complain.

There are some good ones who don’t behave like cliches … like Thorne & Grant.

How do you think modern soldiers deal will combat? Because they don’t just cry and say “semper fi” every moment, they joke with their brothers and sisters in arms.

If cracking jokes makes you a terrible soldier, Johnson must be the worst character and soldier in all of Halo. Your logic, folks.

The concept makes sense. Why wouldn’t the UNSC make more Spartans?

I just really don’t like the look of a lot of the armor.

Agreed I just wished that they would have learned their mistake with the halo 4 armor.

I hope they bring something like the Reach armory back.

I just want to stand out from the rest.

Spartan IIs are Kobe beef in Kobe Japan. Spartan IVs are Angus burgers in Burger King. Spartan IIs are amazing but rare. Spartan IV’s are more economical and can be many places at once.

Seriously though we need more unique likable Spartan IVs. Palmer was abrasive, and the others were forgettable stereotypes. The dudebro animations while lore fitting hardly helps compare them to the stoic godly legends of the Spartan IIs.

I do think there’s room for both and want to see more of the S4s in campaign. Friendly NPCs with rechargeable health make better gunners after all. Plus in a war of Halo’s scale why not give everyone MJOLNIR Armor? It helps balance CQC operations against shielded enemies like Elites, Brutes, and Promethean Knights. Even if S4s can probably be outclassed by each.

They’re just successful versions of Spartan I’s, nothing wrong there.

Spartan-IVs are fine enough I think.
