I posted on this earlier… All the noble armor pieces that were only access in the Kits are now listed as “Vaulted” “Currently Unavailable. Released during Season 1.”
Except these pieces were never released outside of the Kits. Here’s the piece I wanted specifically, Charter’s missing shoulder piece:

We don’t know what “vaulted” exactly means yet. It might just be a fancy word for “unavailable” as in not in the store or unlockable at the exact moment.
If it comes out that vaulted means “permanently gone, never in the store again” I’m going to be absolutely pissed.
They haven’t clarified, but I suspect it means “Will reappear in Shop at some future date”.
The way things are framed here, it seems to me like the items are being painted as “retired”; having been introduced in a past season. I think this will boost the percieved value of these items when they inevitably return from the “vault” in limited time!™ throwback bundles.
I’ve seen some ideas thrown around on here about making items from previous seasons available, even perhaps at a small premium, in some sort of always accessible catalog section of the shop. That’d be the no FOMO way to do it.
Literally the only cosmetic I want in this game is the CQC Helmet and now they are hitting me with “Currently unavailable. Released during Season 1.” Come on man.
At least you have the option to buy them or not in Valorant.
In Infinite, a vast majority of the customization options are neither available for unlock via playing the game, or by buying them in the store on any given day. You have to wait for one specific week of the year for that one option to be randomly made available for purchase. Not only do you have to pay a relatively ridiculous amount of money for a virtual customization option, you also have to basically wait all year and keep checking the store for even the chance to buy it.
Infinite has by far the worst store in gaming. Maybe not when it comes to prices, but its absolutely the worst when it comes to function and design. Its really not even close.
This is the part that puzzles me so very much - they have hundreds, if not thousands, of store available to lift ideas from to encourage purchases and they lean hard into a variant that’s aggressively based on FOMO?
Just copy the MannCo Store from Team Fortress 2, font and all, and call it a day! People will buy old stuff because they want old stuff!
Bro 343 is starting to get the Mantra of let’s be as vague as possible and not ever elaborate on anything.
Seriously we still don’t know how to unlock those two stances in campaign. And 343 has never even addressed this as maybe future content or something they just straight went there’s that, it’s unlocked in campaign … And that’s it
They said that they would eventually look into getting 2 pages of store in the future…. But they say a lot of things and usually doesn’t come to fruition… soooo….
343 is doing nothing valuable with their Waypoint Companion App, so they should honestly just turn it into a shop catalogue, and have every weekly/daily shop featured bundle be discounted, but full price in the app and site. This way, you can buy anything you want, whenever you want, but when it’s featured, it’s on sale that week/day, because that’s how sales work in real life. Then the only FOMO would be missing a discount, instead of not being able to buy it for months or longer. Either that or buy directly from Customization
