Okay, first off, I’m just going to get this out of the way: I’m really excited about Halo 4, but I’ve mixed feelings on a few things. Other than that, I’m good.
So, what do YOU like about Halo 4? For me, it’s the new Spartan Ops mode. It’s really cool, and I’m glad we get something different other than Firefight. Almost like a mix of Campaign and Firefight, too.
I like what I hear about Spartan Ops.
I like this mysterious feel that was missing since, maybe, Combat Evolved.
I like the ost.
I like the art direction.
I like Spartan Ops: the whole idea of what it is, the fact that the first season is free. Thou I don’t like that I have to be online to play it though…
And I like what the campaign is shaping up to be. It’s an interesting idea for John to have a personal nemesis.
Episodic content that furthers the story is an outstanding addition. I’m really looking forward to that type of inclusion with the new Spartan Ops mode.
Of course I’m excited for the campaign aswell though I’m a little behind on my reading and painting my armies is taking up plenty of my time.
And as controversail as it seems to be amongst a few of my friends I’m actually excited to play around a bit with the multiplayer experience. During Halo 2’s lifetime prior to Halo 3’s release Bungie hyped up FASA studios game Shadowrun for them. Having heard of the old table top back in the day I decided to give it a go and pre-order. Bungie sold it well in a weekly update for me. I fell in love with all the abilities and how it premoted team play and different strategies. The best competetive game in xbox live history. Clan matches in any other game were paltry playground activities in comparison. Cleary with Bungie allready looking towards the future with toying with the idea of equipment in Halo 3 Shadowrun further influenced them creatively for changes going into Reach. It just happened to work out that FASA went down and Bungie was able to snatch up that talent and Shadowrun continued to changed the Halo gameplay and landscape. Those changes are now maturing even further in Halo 4. This excites me because maybe now Halo can be nearly as deeply competetive as the old Shadowrun competetive matches were. Team set-up and strategy is the way to go.
The return of the BR and the Carbine. The introduction of spartan ops, because it looks really cool. The maps look well done, not cardboard cuts from campaign. Speaking of campaign the E3 footage looked pretty solid to me. And obviously “THE CHIEF IS BACK”…
There is nothing in this game thus far, from what i’ve seen and heard, that I do not like, except for a few minor things with the UI (like the medals popping up as text above the crosshair as an example).
