I just had a very long game where me and my teammate were winning slowly but surely. By the very end I amassed a herd of Kodiaks to hit Forges last Base. His tanks were in full gear and were doing good damage. They had some Hornets and drones though. But I just didn’t see the Kodiaks as being useful. They didn’t seem all that powerful against the base. I couldn’t gauge how good there range was. I didn’t have the best pathway of attack and the Kodiaks would blockade each other as they would lockdown. Are Kodiaks worthwhile units?
There’s a couple of maps that I like using them when you can put them on top of the hills to either defend your base or attack your opponents. I don’t generally use them when attacking bases though because they get wiped out very easily especially against air.
Never use them unless it’s blitz.
They’re very good for mid-late game map control. Even 1 backing up your units is significant. But as a rule they aren’t worth amassing for an assault. 1-3 is more than enough when supporting an attack force, if you can micro and position them well.
You shouldn’t be using them to attack, they are a unit meant for defending key locations and your bases.
You need to use your Kodiak’s as a siege unit. Great for defense, and on offense you always want them either on higher ground or the same level of ground as your target, otherwise their advantages are limited.
However I will say they are a support unit. 3-4 are enough for you army, the rest of it should be Hornets, Marines, Cyclopes, and even Scorpions with their bug fixes incoming.
I haven’t seem them used very well for offense. Defensively, they can be great against infantry.
If you keep wolverines around them, together they work great.

They’re good but don’t spam them, just like blisterbacks. Having more than 3 is overkill in my opinion.
They’re sitting ducks for leader powers, Always lose them to it… Also Atrioxs Chosen does more dps then 1-3 Kodiaks
I would say 3 or 4 is the maximum you want. They are better at defending, but if you want them on offense you can get a Sniper with camo to be sneaky or just steamroll the base with other units if you prefer.
I usually use them in Domination to watch over contested control points. They can put some serious hurt on just about anything except aircraft in those areas.
Best way for me is to put them on elevated positions where they’ve still got a decent line of sight over the area they’re guarding.
They’re significantly weak to aircraft and just about anything else in close range. So make sure you’ve got something guarding them as they shell the enemy. Like many others are saying, don’t spam them…Around 3-5 is plenty.

They are game winning for sure if used right and defended properly. Just keep him distracted while 4 kodiacks work on the base for a few minutes maybe, leader ability it and it’s gone for sure if kodiacks don’t die
I haven’t used them but they are effective against me.
Having 3-5 supporting your army is amazing. The range is huge.
The pathing of them setting up they run circles go back and forth it’s like they hired down syndrome marines and there already slow moving is not worth it especially with anders. Best to go with something else especially if you are diamond on up.

The best anders player in the game uses them why would you say not to use them as anders that being said I think Anders is the only time they should be used
I think the projectiles come out at a slightly wrong angle than they should, although this doesn’t affect gameplay.
My answer would be: It depends on the situation, put a couple Kodiaks on a hill behind an enemy base and they are very useful! however just on their own yeah they do good damage but once air units or cyclops reach them it’s over for them, that’s why the do much better on top of a hill. Won a 55min game by dropping some kodiaks behind an enemy base in a hill.

I’ve been doing quite fine without them. I recommend no one uses them. Especially after the upcoming patch. Trust me when you get into the higher ranks you will find out why not to use them.
