what do you guys think of halo: cea?

I for one love it so much and how much they fixed reach! What do you guys think

I don’t have it yet, so I’ll post a raging fanboy’s reaction.

Raging fanboy: OMG THERE WEREN’T THAT MANY TREES IN THE ORIGINAL!!!RAGE
OMG THERE’S A GLITCH ON A TEN YEAR OLD ENGINE!!! RAGE

I love it, especially the way it says you’re playing Halo Reach if you go onto the CEA disc and go into multiplayer. That is cool.

It’s being held back by the fact that CE:A can’t be any better than it is now. That right there my friends, is a major flaw. I am having second thoughts here, will I be able to continue to comprehend the enjoyment i get out it while retaining my sanity? :stuck_out_tongue:

:stuck_out_tongue:

:stuck_out_tongue:

Love it. I paid attention and knew since July it was mainly a campaign overhaul and a map pack for REACH, so I can’t RAGE over nothing :frowning:

its the best it can be…and since i love halo ce, i love halo cea through the transitive property. i dont know what people are complaining about, it was only $40 because it was basically just the campaign.

I LOVE IT

Campaign Wise -

Seeing a Remake of an Old Game that used to make me squeal like a girl seems to make me do bad things to my TV Screen. The quality of the Campaign Remake is awesome. Physics and Weapons untouched and not a Utility Weapon in sight.

As for Anniversary Multiplayer, its alright. So far I prefer the love for weapons such as the Needler and Plasma Rifle but I am concerned that the Magnum and DMR and the people who use it are becoming too fanatical about it. It was fun with the settings at HaloFest but I’m not so sure anymore on Xbox Live.

I think it’s awesome, grunt funeral skull is quickly becoming one of my favorite skulls. Go into a room full of enemies, put down a few grunts, thins the ranks real quick.

I love it especially the new MP maps and Gametypes.

It is good, but the stuttering engine is just ridiculous and distracting.

I really enjoy the game. I think the new graphics layer for the campaign is amazing.

Overall, its exactly what I expected it to be, good work 343

I’m absolutely loving it. I genuinely have had no problems with the Campaign, thus far (touch wood), and the overhauled visuals are amazing. Some of the vistas breath a whole new lease of life into the game. I know some don’t like that they upped the lighting, but in doing so I’m noticing things I didn’t before. I’m starting to think the original was too dark, general speaking. Controls feel smooth, and not dated, and the AI is still awesome (I’m sure enemies better react to things than in later games). Audio is great, SP’s challenging (Legendary) and long, terminals are brilliant (always anticipating the next one), and I’m just generally having a blast.

I’ll play with Skull modifiers on later playthroughs.

i’m not all that impressed with the graphics. i know its a remake, but i payed good money for it and it has wii graphics that stutter constantly.

the campaign is the same, but i think the new graphics just look crappy, the game looks better in the old version, I’d rather see no textures than crappy ones

i haven’t played the multiplayer yet, i got bored and tried saints row 3 before i got to the multiplayer

oh and the kinect integration is useless, it recognizes about 1 out of every 5 commands even when speaking loud, slow, and clearly. with no background (aside from the game) noise

While you have a valid argument for the first part, the kinect problem has to do with the player’s console, every command I’ve given the kinect for this game has been followed.

kinect or not, it would be way more convenient to be able to scan/analyze mode with a button press instead of shouting at the tv constantly.

I am usually already shouting at my TV so the Kinect is sadly overworked.

You seriously aren’t impressed by the new graphics? Some of them aren’t omg impressive, but some areas really stuck out already to me as being on par w/ Halo 3 at least…Inside Truth and Reconciliation is one that comes to mind. The halls of the Autumn as well.

I think the problem is that its an overabundance of texture to make up for a lack of stuff filling up the space. This is painfully obvious in like, the underground tunnel of level two, Halo.

Compare it with the corridors section of Halo 3’s level where you’re in the base and the Brutes have the bomb and crap…there’s trucks and crates and stuff all over the place. The game engine handled that sort of auxilary nonsense, whereas the original Halo is just walls, floors, and people to shoot at.

So I think what you’re seeing as a lack in graphics is a lack in objects filling the playspace.

Good money as opposed to bad money?
40 bucks for a remake isn’t that bad and when you think about it, it isn’t a crummy HD upgrade like PS does with their remakes, the maps are 1200 MSP alone. So when you bought CEA, you pretty much paid 20 bucks for campaign and 20 bucks for the maps.
I don’t get any graphics stutter nor crappy textures. Maybe you should try a different TV or have your eyes examined.
Kinect’s integration also works for me perfectly. Remember to enunciate and speak normally.

I’d give it an honest 8.5 from what I’ve seen, my copy is supposed to arrive sometime tomorrow.
