I think it has to be the most useful AA in the game by far. Not only that but it’s fun as hell to use.

Very rarely have I seen players use it to great effect.
i like it purely for mobility, but if i try to use it in combat i almost always get killed. which, i suppose, is far more balanced than reach.
If used well it can be a great boon to map movement.
Having said that, it is not used well by most.
The Jetpack has been fixed so it can no longer be greatly exploited like in Reach. For that, I am thankful.
It broke maps in Reach. It’s fine in Halo 4. I like that it’s more of a jump pack than a jet pack. I use it to get places and to occasionally take someone out that thinks they can duck behind that hill when they’re 1 shot.

I agree Jrock…it had to much boost/fuel in Reach though on a related note I feel the dodge/Spartan boost ability in 4 has too little range…
I use to like it now ive been converted to the thruster pack, seriously the things this does with grav lifts makes it the best for getting around on haven/solace
I can’t count how many times the jet pack has gotten me out of sticky situations.
It can be used to get a good vantage point of the battlefield, move around the map quickly and grab power weapons.
I’m surprised more people don’t use it.

I reckon its due to bumper jumper putting AAs on X meaning unless you claw its a pain to use and shoot

That is the reason I dislike the jetpack. It allows for that to happen.
Not all that fun for some people.
The jetpack, if used right, allows you to get the first shot off during any pvp encounter. If you sprint and then jump and then use jetpack to get around a corner, the enemy will take at least a full second to readjust his aim so that he is shooting up at you. And even then, it is harder to hit somebody in the head when they are directly above you.
For rounding corners, this ability is amazing. The only drawback is that you may expose yourself to many enemies at once and you are a sitting duck while in midair.
But for 1v1 encounters, I’d say it is the most useful ability in the game.

That makes sense. Good thing I don’t use bumper jumper.
