Seeing as how we do not have a ranking system and cannot consistently get matched with players of or around our skill, I was thinking that maybe we could introduce a skill ban. I oftentimes find myselves with teammates that like to run out and die, which is fine, except that it negatively impacts everyone elses enjoyment of the match. Think of it like that one friend who insists on smoking in a car full of non-smokers. Basically, how it would work is everytime you go -15 in your k/d ratio in slayer based gametypes, you are banned from matchmaking for a time that gradually increases from an hour.
Social playlists would also help to deal with this.
I don’t want a ban system just a matchmaking system. If both teams have = numbers of great,ok,bad players I wouldn’t care about the occasional 1/15 player.
Wow… Lets punish people for sucking. That’s a terrible idea. This will not help the population. You think the casuals who do this will just keep working harder because of the ban? Yea right, they’ll just play another game and we need them to keep the game going… $$$$
The point of online matchmaking is so people can play and have fun. If they have fun Leroy Jenkins-ing it up, that’s their choice and they shouldn’t be banned because they didn’t do good enough by some arbitrary standard that you have deemed “bad.”
I don’t understand the logic behind the OP. Punish people for a off game or punish people for not being as good, what? I think what you meant to say was a elo system?
> Wait, so you are proposing that we PUNISH bad playing? Are you kidding me?
Thats what needs to be done.
In reach they PUNISHED good players that dont want to sit there and play with braindead teammates. It would encourage people to get better which is a better all around experince for everyone

This is what i thought back in reach thinking when i get paired up with people that are braindead that i should be able to LEAVE so i could get into a game where i could have fun but NO. Bungie decided based on all the people that cried back in halo 3 days of people leaving mid game that i should be PUNISHED for simply trying to enjoy the game i bought.
They need to turn that load of crap around in halo 4 and PUNISH people that are bad so they will then be FORCED to get good

I never said that they should be banned for being “bad”. With all due respect, I meant that they should be banned temporarily for negatively impacting the rest of their teammates enjoyment so severely. You say that the point of online matchmaking is so people can play and have fun, having people go -15 or worse and just getting your team destroyed in a slayer based game is not fun for everyone else on the team.
If you look at the United States Bill of Rights (343 is incorperated here) and the essays of John Locke and Thomas Hobbes, you will find a theme that embodies the principle that one’s rights do not extend themselves to infringe upon the rights of others.
It is the same principle with matchmaking, albeit a drastic analogy.

The point I am trying to make can be found in SmileAsTheyDie’s frustrations with his teammates. See my above post.
