What do you guys do??

So I’m only SR 84 and I’m losing interest quickly since I moved from silver reqs to gold. At least with silver I could grind for six or so hours a day and still get to open tons of silver packs but now it takes me about an hour just to be able to open a gold pack. I lot unlocking and implementing new reqs in warzone but now I’m just losing interest.
So what does everyone over SR 84 do to keep the game fun?
Thanks for the responses in advance.

Halolfg.com to meet new people to play with.

What do req packs have to do with your enjoyment of the game? That’s a non sequitur.

You only play because the REQ’s?

I can say, to make it more funny to you. Play in a Squad and try new mods.
Maybe Warzone in a nice squad is your answer ^^

German guy, pls don’t kill me 4 my English

Well, I liked the thought of awards after playing a couple of matches since 343 got rid of actually completing different challenges to receive items like different armor skins.

That’s alright I spent three years in Germany. I am going to try playing with other players.

It’s still fun and im almost done with my golds, will probly still be fun after that. Keeping this game fun isnt any different then other games, games didn’t used to have systems like this in the past and they were enjoyable. Patience my man, the harder rewards are usually the best

I’m waiting it out for Warzone Firefight. I absolutely loved Firefight in the other Halo games, and I’m excited to see how it turns out in Halo 5.

Yeah, I understand maybe I’ll take a break from it for awhile.

I loved firefight I hope that 343 makes it just as good as the other games. I liked the trailer they made and that makes me pretty excited for the update early next month.

I play a lot of Warzone Assault (feels like you get the most REQ points for the time) and to add a little twist I go for commendations. I only have a few weapon ones left.

Don’t play it so much and play with groups. I found some people to play with and it makes things 100x better. Takes short brakes with other games and come back. I took a break with Division and a few other titles and then finally came back to Halo and it was just as fun as when I played at launch.

I know people want more game modes, but with what Halo 5 offers, there is a moderately good mix. I love fiesta right now (maxing out commendations), plus there is grifball (fun with friends), then you have the classic Team arena (good with friends), breakout is unique, and then warzone of course. I feel like its got good variety (maybe I was just used to playing Destiny’s limited PvP modes for so long)

I’ve actually only played warzone assault twice so maybe I’ll try that out again. I’ve been working on my commendations just a little tedious.

I consistently switch between playlists to keep things interesting. I’ve never had an issue with grinding for reqs mostly cause that was never my focus but probably because by switching between arena and wz you don’t constantly feel the need to have req weapons in your arsenal.

Also I’d say try and focus on a gametype you don’t play as often. I find breakout to be a great change of pace from team arena and warzone cause you have to approach it in a completely different way.

I dunno man. I’ve literally never been bored of this game lol. Always something different to do.

ALSO invite people with good communication to your fireteam. It’s always funner to play when you’re actively working with a team (even just 2 guys) than playing solo and being constantly disappointed in your team mates.

I ended up switching to another game for just a couple days so I could kinda reboot and recharge. Came back and it was a lot more fun!

I don’t understand how simply opening packs have anything to do with whether you are having fun in the games. Yeah it takes longer to open a pack but the game itself isn’t any different. Although I will tell you there is a light at the end of the tunnel once you finish golds you get two 3000 point req cards back so it takes no time, especially in warzone to get to open new gold packs.

I’m SR130 and I found that what keeps the game fun is to just not play it as much. Sounds weird but it’s true. I don’t play as much as before, but when I do I seem to be enjoying it more than when I was grinding away in 2-3 hours chunks.

How did they keep people playing the game before they had reward systems, I wonder? I used to play Combat Evolved for hours and hours and I can’t for the life of me remember why I ever played that because I didn’t get any reward in return …

… oh yeah, IT’S A VIDEO GAME! That’s the reward. You get to sit on your butt and play Halo. That’s fun. If it’s not, and it can’t keep your interest, then either:

(a) the reward system has triggered a gambling reflex in your brain that has replaced the fun aspect of the game itself with “earning” and unlocking randomized REQs which has really hurt the game by making it seem like a chore in order to get the reward which is now the pleasurable part of the game, or

(b) Halo is not fun.

^ it’s “(a)” by the way. Although, “(a)” causes “(b)” to happen. If the fun comes from the reward which is no longer playing Halo but getting a REQ, and if Halo is the chore that “earns” you those REQs, then Halo becomes less fun. We played Halo because it’s a fun and rewarding game to play. We didn’t need to get hooked on some REQ system to take that away from us, but we got it anyway, didn’t we?
