It´ll be a good game ,we all know that ,but will it exceed our expectations ?
I’m wanting a non-BR shooter. So I will be satisfied with halo by that point alone.
I am both expecting a masterpiece worthy of us allowing 343 to being forgiven for their transgressions and the desecration of our hallowed grounds with their filthy footsteps while also expecting a trash game that has a terrible story yet likeable multiplayer a-la Halo 5 Guardians.
I guess my biggest expectation is that they somehow make the H5 story to work.
I’m not expecting, but hoping Infinite will have a masterpiece of a story.

Brian Reed isn’t involved anymore, so there is a 1000x chance of a good story. But given 343’s track record plus the bonus that some of the old Bungie bois came over to assist, I am giving it a 14% chance of being bad and a 49% chance that it would be good. The remainder of that pie chart is horrendous and would require me to besiege 343 industries to force them to fix their incompetent mess.

I really hope so! I hope it won’t be a huge disappointment like it was jumping into the halo 5 beta or halo 5 after the huge let down of halo 4! Everything is looking good with infinite so far! I just hope it feels, sounds and looks like the iconic classic halo again!

Disappointment was the theme of the last decade when it came to videogames and movies.
So far I’m excited!! But keep your expectations low and you will never be disappointed.
I’m hopeful that it’s going to be a really great game and awesome Halo experience.
But I expect a good game, at least, with good gameplay + campaign and a fun multiplayer
I expect it to be a fun and enjoyable Halo game that will leave an impact on me. Which i know it will. I know I’m going to love it.
I expect the game to be feature complete at launch. Basically have all the things that should be expected of an average Halo game in terms of game modes to be there when it releases. Ideally I’m also hoping that the campaign will deliver on the story front and be decent. Beyond that, I just want the game to be fun. It doesn’t need to be the best game ever made or even the best Halo game ever made so as long it scratches that Halo itch that I’ve been wanting in a new game for years since Reach then I’ll be happy.
If:
- The narrative is fresh & engaging - There are tons of weapons & vehicles [Falcon please] - We can freely explore all of Zeta HALO - The HALO 5 narrative is relegated to a bear minimum - The Hexagon pillars are only used near the damaged portion of the ring - There are Scarab boss battles - No cliffhanger ending - Zeta HALO exploration isn’t truncated to allow DLC to add to it over time [i.e. we get a complete Zeta HALO] - The game is “M” rated - Enemy AI is like Bungie’s AI - Classic weapons return to Campaign - All DLC weapons & vehicles added to multiplayer are also added to the Campaign - Ray Tracing is in at launch - Dynamic weather is added soon after launch - We can stock weapons, ammo and equipment on vehicles from UNSC bases to resupply in the field - The graphics on the Xbox Series X & PC look Next-Gen - More Banished - less Prometheans [or none] - Keeping the Campaign on Zeta HALO & nowhere else_If_ all of those things are what HALO INFINITE is; then it will be the greatest HALO game in the saga:metal:t2:
I’m expecting little but I’m hoping its something I can sink my hours into
I’m expecting a good Campaign, a fun multiplayer, and a big, but not confusing, Forge
Nothing at all. EVERY Halo game has been criticized because of the expectation, maybe today it doesn’t seem like it but even the first trilogy was criticized for the same, literally a new Halo game has to come out to see the old one with pretty eyes.
I’m very excited for the campaign. I’m not going to get too hyped up - all the cancellations, delays and missed release dates of 2020 pretty much killed my ability or desire to feel hype. But I can’t wait to explore Installation 07, and I hope it’s everything it’s hyped up to be. I hope this game brings some deep and exciting new revelations to the lore. I hope 343 consistently gives us quality story and single-player sandbox expansions over the coming years. I really, really hope they don’t pull a Rockstar and neglect the story experience in favor of multiplayer content. Honestly, that might be the biggest way this game could disappoint me.
I’m really looking forward to Forge and the custom games browser. Halo Reach from 2010 to about 2018 was the glory days of custom games for me, and I hope Infinite can bring back some of this magic for the next generation.
Matchmaking is… whatever. At this point, I really have zero interest in it. It’ll be part of the game, so I’ll try it, but so far I have not enjoyed the matchmaking experience of any of 343’s games. Halo 4 was meh. Halo 5 was incredibly sweaty and frustrating. MCC is incredibly sweaty and frustrating, and seems to get worse every day with bad matches, crashes, disconnects, griefers, AFKers, and kill-farming squads. Lots of quitters too, but I see that as mainly a symptom of these other issues that make the game miserable to play. There are plenty of complaints on the MCC forum about that game’s many issues. 343’s only response of late has been “moar quit bans.” No attempt to solve any of the systemic problems at their source; not even an acknowledgement that there are major systemic issues on their end. When it comes to matchmaking, it seems that 343 only knows how to double down on a bad system, so I’m not very optimistic about this part of the game. But, I’m ready to be pleasantly surprised. I guess we’ll see.
What would really make me happy is a massive new BTB experience, like an evolved version of Invasion. Higher player count, massive sandbox and maps, multi-tiered objective gameplay. Bonus if we can play as Brutes, Jackals, Marines, ODST’s etc in addition to Spartans and Elites. This is something I’ve wanted from Halo for as long as I’ve been playing, but I’ve pretty much resigned myself to never getting it. Would be nice though.
I am really hoping that the upcoming Halo Infinite will bring back the magic especially getting everyone excited for Halo again. I am also hoping to see the Halo Infinite campaign levels that is really good.

I second this!
I expect a whole lot of awesome but I don’t think I’m gonna be too disappointed if it doesn’t turn out like that.

You didn’t mean ALL of Zeta Halo, did you? Cause (said in Spark’s voice) that’s 9,990,264.638 square kilometers. Tartarus laugh
