Well, the inside xbox was transmited yesterday and, I want to know your opinions about it. (From the lack of Halo)
Considering I didn’t know there was going to be an inside Xbox stream, I had no expectations. I don’t think we will be getting any halo info until the week e3 was supposed to be.

This is the link of the Inside Xbox if you want to chek it out
Microsoft never claimed it would be discussing anything Halo related so it’s not surprising at all.
On Monday, they aired a teaser for the Inside Xbox edition and mentioned what they would be discussing. Halo wasn’t among them.
Halo Infinite is their biggest game of 2020, and arguably the most important game in the HISTORY of Xbox. You can be sure that they would have teased something about it if it was planned for yesterday’s episode.

Well, yeah. Halo Infinite will decide the fate of Xbox, and, most importantley, the Halo franchise. And, I think, we deserve more information about it (personal opinion).
I think we just have to wait for the E3 then.
Well, I think this forum is not well thought out
I think this is the beginning of the infinite hype train… I’m so excited about it. I’d like everyone to stay calm and understand as I do now that these guys are the bosses and even an old masterchief like me has to unfreeze slowly…
Nvm… It’s time to fight

Whatever your game (H5, mcc)… Let’s battle and prepare to take down the covenant…

No game can ever be more important to the history of Xbox than Halo 2. Halo 2 on Xbox Live MADE Xbox.

I would claim HCE is the game that made XBox a success. H2 if something was the launch-pad for XBL!
Hi is the most important game for XSX though, that’s for sure. I guess that’s also the point here!

I don’t think it is. I’m of the opinion the Series X is just a fan option in the form of a powerful console. I could be wrong, but I would agree with you 100% if Halo Infinite was a Series X exclusive. There are many like myself that won’t be buying Halo Infinite (as things stand) day one but we will buy Series X because we like Xbox and prefer consoles. With Halo Infinite releasing on PC, Xbox One, XB1 s, XB 1 x and Series X I’m very curious as to why anyone would fork out for Series X unless they have disposable income and want it for the power.

Honestly it’s such a huge upgrade from the standard Xbox one I’m still rocking. I recently bought a top of the line 4K TV and now more than ever I’m feeling how outdated this console is. It’s missing many features added with the 1S and 1X (UHD blu ray player, 4K support, Variable refresh rate{VRR}, HDR). It also plays games at potato quality by modern standards.
Im going to go from 1080 30fps with equivalent graphics of a medium on pc for most games, to 4K60+ With VRR, HDR, and pc ultra setting equivalent. Just cause Infinite will be playable on standard X1 and X1S, doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a much nicer experience on the newer consoles.

It make sense. HCE was only and exclusivley for Xbox 360, and HI is for Xbox too, so I think we have to think more than Xbox Series X, like, more gennerally, even more than Xbox. I think we all agree that HI will decide the destiny of Halo franchise, like, Halo is not at the golden place as it was later. I don´t know, Im just very hype for this game and I hope, and, I KNOW it will be good

I don’t doubt it will be a better experience playing games on the Xbox Series X. I have the cash ready to buy it and I’m upgrading from Xbox One X. I just don’t think Halo Infinite alone will be the deciding factor to the success of it. I’m buying it because I lose nothing this time. My games, controllers and other peripherals will all work, and it looks like it has the power too. I hope that explains my point of view better.
This is purely speculation, but I think they’re going for a blowout reveal. I except there to be some new systems that will need to be demonstrated and explored; I don’t feel like we’re going to be in for the traditional Halo campaign here. Same with the multiplayer, for better or worse. I really think Halo will be seeing a huge overhaul when it comes to progression, customization, matchmaking services, and more, especially if they want Halo to be a competitive and attractive game in the live service era of gaming. I doubt they’re staying so tight-lipped if they don’t have something worth showing after so long.

That’s the thing though, it was Xbox Live that was the critical turning point. Before Xbox Live Xbox just had a “cool game called Halo”. Halo 2 on Xbox Live is where Microsoft made its mark on the console market, and without it the 360 never would have become the powerhouse of it’s generation. At least not before Halo 3.

While I personally don’t see Infinite as the make-it-or-break-it-game for the SeXbox, I just want to point out that the same argument could have been (and was?) made for the Nintendo Switch and Breath of the Wild.
BotW was a WiiU game (as this was the main development platform for many years) that got a simultaneously released Switch-port. Still, the Switch would never have sold like sliced bread if that game hadn’t existed.
Given the similarities between both releases - Halo being a flagship title for Microsoft in a similar style as Zelda for Nintendo, both series having incredibly poor received titles prior and a console underpeforming - it just make sense to draw similar analogies.

I tend to agree with Bamboo here. If Halo CE hadn’t showed how shooters have to work on console, nobody would have had any reason to shell out money for the console and Xbox Live (remember that paying for online gameplay was preposterous back then). Especially given the ridiculous restriction that you needed a credit card for XBL that the 360 luckily abandoned.

I think that’s more indicating that Halo CE was the most important contribution Halo made to the First Person Shooter genre, than it is that it was important for Microsoft. Significantly more Xbox consoles were sold AFTER Halo 2 than before. Because it was the real driving force behind the Xbox’s popularity. Gotta remember, people weren’t shelling out money for Xbox Live for Halo CE, they were shelling it out for Halo 2.

No, they weren’t.
At the end of June 2004 - before Halo 2’s release - the Xbox had sold 15.5 Million units.
In its total lifetime, the Xbox has sold 24 Million consoles.
That means, at most 9 Million units were sold after Halo 2.
6 Million less than before.
