Use the chain link symbol that is to the left of the head and shoulders one. That is for tagging other users. The chain link is for url links(:

Honestly, I haven’t seen anywhere on the forums that this is the case. I’ve always seen the toolbar above the text editor, so I didn’t think it was blocked behind a rank wall. I believe you, but I’m just pointing out that most of us were just trying to help. I don’t see anyone criticizing op here except for the guy that said he, himself, was lazy. - which didn’t seem like a negative comment towards op.

You need to be at least Marine (Iron) rank to make clickable links though, which takes 100 posts to get to. After you reach that rank, you be able to make links.
