What Do People Think About No CL's In Halo 5?

What does everyone think about having no custom load-outs in halo 5?

I like the idea of not having loadouts! It gives the multiplayer a bit of a challenge.

Love it. Same starts for everyone is how it should be imo.

Tip do not fan the flames of hate…

One general reason why I have enjoyed Halo for so long is the equality within the multiplayer; no matter how long you have played you will never come up against a weapon, vehicle or equipment that is not acquirable. The greater players were obviously the more experience with the maps, weapon spawns, vehicle benefits… however always at its core Halo’s equal starts, allowed fresh new fans to join the fold without any need for “hiding” from the experienced players… as in Battlefield and COD.

Besides WARZONE is an appropriate middle-ground with the REQ System.

I love cl’s, thankfully warzone will fill that void with requisitions

Custom loadouts were pretty bad because of all the noob stuff you could spawn with (Plasma Pistol, Boltshot, Plasma Grenades, Survivor perks, etc.), but I wouldn’t be opposed to premade loadouts like Reach or even a milder version of custom loadouts.

Honestly, I wish BTB in Halo 5 had loadouts, but stripped down versions of the ones from Halo 4 that only let you choose which primary weapon you wanted and everything else was the same.

I liked being able to spawn with my weapon of choice in Halo 4, though everyone else seems to think that loadouts are the work of Satan.

Still, I can use REQ stations in Warzone to get what I want, so I’m satisfied.

Please for the love of god don’t tell me you want those things back! BTB was a nightmare, Plasma Pistols and Sticky’s everywhere, made vehicles into gimmicks rather than powerful weapons. Slayer was a cesspool of Boltshot campers, and many players were abusing the noob combo.

Custom loadouts were never meant to be in halo, and they never should return.

Absolutely thrilled about it. Halo has always been about balanced starts with incentive on map/power weapon control. Loadouts were a good idea in theory with all the customization and choice trends in games, but in practice it doesn’t translate well. Not within the Halo niche at least.

I liked using a LightRifle, autosentry, pulse grenade, I had boltshot but single fire it.

i want my autosentry buddy…

Custom loadouts are fine, they’re just not fine for Halo. It just doesn’t work and isn’t balanced at all. In other games cough CoD cough there’s a massive variety of weapons that do pretty much the same thing with minor differences, but Halo has a smaller weapon sandbox but each weapon is unique and there isn’t that large of a variety. Meaning the weapons that are obviously the most powerful are going to be used the most example: DMR, Boltshot, plasma grenades ext. Having same start weapons definitely makes the game more fair and prevents everyone running around with the most OP loadout, it makes players be smart and use different tactics.

I’m just glad you can’t pick the jetpack and ruin the vertical-ness of all the maps.

I am incredibly happy they are gone. Halo’s multiplayer is arena based, remove that aspect and you aren’t getting a true halo experience. I do think they would be nice to see in a spinoff based in the halo universe, just not in a main game.

I do not mind not having loadouts.

I love the equal starts for Arena. Warzone has a system where you’ll pretty much set up a loadout anyway, there’s a ‘loadouts’ tab, where you choose from the starting weapons you’d expect (pistol, AR, BR, DMR, not sure about Lightrifle) and they basically work like unlimited REQ cards that you can use anytime you spawn.

I have just changed my mind, i think the halo’s are much better without load-outs because it gives the multiplayer a bit of a challenge and it is better so noobs just don’t use the same weapon.

In reach this could have been right, but 4’s jetpack seemed pretty balanced to me and added something to gameplay instead of ruining it, but to each their own.

I’m impartial, honestly. I liked loadouts, but I like having pre set weapon starts. I’ll almost always going to be using the magnum, so as long as that’s a permanent weapon start, I’m happy haha

Love it! They made a mistake with custom loadouts. It was an uber crutch that made the game too easy. Without them, we actually have to work to get the good stuff.

I prefer Halo with no loadouts. It hearkens back to the classic Halo feel in a good way.

Fair starts are the way to go, no unbalanced loadouts.
