What do different armor pieces affect in campaign?

So I recently started playing Reach again after not touching it for a while(connected to Xbox Live and got forced to go from Capt. Grade 3 to SGT. so was a bit perturbed) and I realized after putting on the UA/Counterassault chest piece it gave me more ammo at the start of campaign missions so I was wondering what other pieces of armor have an affect on stuff in campaign.

Armor pieces are purely cosmetic and have no effect on gameplay.

Then why do some of them give you more reserve ammo at the start of missions.

They don’t. You get different amounts of ammo for different missions and potentially for different difficulties. All weapons picked up have random ammo counts.

If you indeed see that armor pieces are giving you different amounts of ammo, run a proper test with only one variable, that being the armor sets. Then post videos/pictures here. If they show you having different amounts of ammo, then I stand corrected.

That’s undoubtfully impossible. It would either be a known issue or been patched, both since day 1.

Armor pieces are purely cosmetic as stated above. The only thing they effect are how your character looks in Cutscenes. They do not do anything else than that. They do not give you more ammo or do anything else. In the story/campaign mode, there are some missions that will give you more ammo for a gun than you would be able to carry normally, like in the sniper mission with June (cannot think of the name), you have like 40+ shots for your sniper rifle when normally, you would have way less than that in a normal game mode. And some missions have you start with less than normal ammo, like when George drops you from orbit and you fall all the way back down to Reach. In the next mission, you start with a pistol, but you start with less ammo than normal, but you can pick up more as you go. The amount of ammo you are starting with in a mission is solely a story/campaign mode scripted effect and nothing more than that.
