So did I, but a new era has begun in the halo universe, which means the same as for the mega bloks, and as more newly articulated and colorful sets are released, the harder it becomes to get a hold of the original ones. I consider myself lucky to own many of the first sets in the halo wars theme, and consider it an unfortunate loss for those who are stuck with the bright, toyish newer sets. At least some of the iconic ODST figures are still being sold on ebay.

Me too. I almost got that one, but I think they ran out on amazon. Some of the new sets actually aren’t that bad.

For the mega bloks ODSTs that are all grey with the green stripe on their helmets, What would the be? I was thinking based on the color, they would have a specific division, regiment, battalion, and/or company they are. For Ex., 232nd Drop Shock Battalion. Not just their role like a technician, a mechanic, Explosive Ordnance Disposal or EOD, and/ or Counter-Insurgency.
Scratch the “Not just their roles” thing I said, I would actually want the ODSTs in grey armor with the green stripe on their helmets to be called the 524th Counter-Insurgency Battalion.

Please don’t post multiple time in a row. If you need to add more information or quote other users, you can edit your last post. Thanks
unless they are officially named characters (ie: master chief, Noble 6, Buck, etc), the details and color schemes of Mega Bloks ODSTs are not canonically symbolic of their role. The old mega bloks ODSTs figures follow that color scheme (blue=sniper, red=explosives expert, orange=heavy, etc) because they were basing them off of the characters of the ODST game. the colors are made to be recognizable as the characters of ODST without necessarily naming them (because for a while there were no officially named MB figures, despite how similar they looked to game characters):
blue, sniper- Romeo, who was a sniper and wore blue
red, explosives- Mickey, explosives expert who wore red
orange, heavy- Dutch, heavy who wore orange
an ODST’s accent color is actually an identifier of who the individual is, similar to color patterns on spartan armor. this can be backed up through the various color schemes of ODSTs seen in the games and other media
some examples:
an ODST with red accents taking on a leadership role in halo3’s campaign. red Mega Bloks figure is explosives expert - ODSTs with white accent marks acting as ground force specialists in halo 3’s campaign, and as bullfrog jetpack specialists in halo reach. white Mega Bloks figure is arctic sniper. - in the We are ODST live action trailer, the ODST with yellow is first seen acting as a ground force specialist, and then later on after a time skip, as a leadership role. he still retains the yellow armor accents despite the role change. - ODSTs of Fireteam Raven (blue-command, orange-recon/communication, green-heavy, purple-explosives/demolition) - Sunray 1-1, ODST team with different colors operating in different roles (ie: yellow-sniper, orange-team leader)while the armor’s accent color does not represent the ODSTs role in combat, the actual variant of the armor itself does. ODSTs have access to specialized variations of the ODST BDU.
2 examples being the:
sharpshooter BDU- favored by ODSTs snipers. features optic device attached to helmet, right shoulder pad is removed to better allow flexibility of arm to assist in aiming, large left shoulder pad protects considerable amount of user’s upper-body.- used by Romeo
and
ODST/UA PPE- favored by demolition experts. heavier variant of ODST BDU. features a larger, rounded two-piece shoulder plating on right arm.- used by mickey

This info is quite old now as the thread is from 2018 and may have been superceded by, e.g. Fireteam Raven
