I’ve talked to a couple friends about this and was I the only one that was a little dissapointed by the campaign in Reach. Even though it brought in some cool aspects, when I heard reach I was expecting the fall of reach story from the book with chief. Also as a lore fanatic there are things that are in the book that linking in the game don’t match up. I also found the characters except Emile and Jorge to be very boring and bland. It just seemed a bit half -Yoinked!- for me with the potential they had.

Emile and Jorge to a majority of the community were the most interesting characters. Jorge thought he just saved Reach and yeah we know what happens. Emile was just awesome I would say bad yoink if I could here and his final words were amazing. Reach’ s campaign was amazing no matter what you did the Covenant were one step ahead. Finally legendary difficulty and LASO was comparable to CE and 2 which was great. The fact you face Elites that are Ultra and Zealots with heavy weapons brings back memories from 2001 and 2004 and that they hunt you down if your shields are down was great.

There are good points in it that were cool and some aspects in it were good. I’m not saying I disliked it, just a little let down from what I was expecting I guess.
I loved the campaign. I liked that they gave us a new story and characters rather than just copying the story from the Fall of Reach book, although I wish more of Noble Team could’ve survived. As far as gameplay goes, Halo: Reach is the best in the series; I love the open missions like Winter Contingency, ONI Sword Base, and New Alexandria- especially flying the Falcon in the latter- I love the space combat from Long Night of Solace, and I love being able to bring my custom Spartan into the campaign. IMO it’s the best campaign in the series right alongside Halo: CE.
If you read the novel Halo The Fall Reach, they did a bad campaign. Why? Bungie was that stupid to ignore something of that importance, and made a fast campaign. I liked, but they could relate a little with the novel. It was one of the worst thing Bungie made with the Halo stories, they didn’t close the the,Es and let many thing on the air. At least 343i is trying to fix many inconsistencies created by Bungie, I don’t know why many people don’t like them.
I really loved the campaign for Reach. It was a really great story that made you really feel for the characters. And it provided a great challenge especially on the Legedary difficulty where the AI would seem to know when you were low/out of ammo, reloading, or down on shields.
Personally,I love it.The only thing that I don’t like a lot is how the characters die one by one at the end.I would like it better if they had separated them out through the beginning and the end.

But that was kinda the whole thing with Reach. From the beginning, most fans knew how it would end. Reach was doomed to fall to the Covenant. To keep up with that somber and dark plotline, it was best to have Noble Team die off rather than just go missing.
personally, I really liked the campaign, Halo reach itself is one of my favorite games alongside ODST, I like how 343i acknowledged the fact that Bungie kinda left Jun’s fate unanswered by bringing him back into the universe and in a significant role, the designs and just the vehicles themselves are may favorite throughout the franchise and the game itself felt like what halo is, a military sci-fi shooter, the way everything looked gave the UNSC a real military vibe whereas in halo 4 and 5 everything is all polished and shiny and it doesn’t really give much of a military vibe the way reach does
not that bad, maybe some aspects that i didnt like and few parts that felt like repetition. Otherwise it is a good game. Not on the level of original trilogy but its close.
If i have to pick the best campaign among the series (beside Halo 5), the it will be Reach. It has unique atmosphere and good mission arrangement. The only disappointments are how Noble 2 died and fate of Noble 3 was not explained (in game).
I honestly really loved the campaign. I can go back and play that campaign and enjoy the -Yoink- out of it every time. Atmosphere, characterisation, environments, set pieces, they are all there.
I also think that the Covenant were depicted the best in Reach, in their designs and ferocity both. They just had such amazing variety (probably because there was no Flood or Sentinels in the game).
I loved the weapon sandbox too, there was so many unique weapons that I’m sad to see have not returned since - the plasma launcher, grenade launcher and focus rifle spring to mind.
One of the best campaigns I’ve ever played. I aways get all emotional when I’m playing the campaign and each one of the nobles die. This game got me so involved that I almost cried at the last mission when it said “survive” and the drop ships were coming in the background.
All in all I see no flaws in it and think that bungie should be in command of a future project for “reach 2” (?)
I thought it was one of the best Campaigns in the series and maybe gaming. Reach might have ignored the lore aspects which I can understand people hating but if you do just ignore that and see how Reach fits in with the others it works pretty good. Also having Noble 6 who is you playing in the campaign with customized armor is pretty fun also.
