Fantastic, but like everything else in Halo InfiniteâŚLACKING CONTENT!
I found it was alright but a bit boring, the Callbacks were awesome. The open world was not bad & something different, but I find itâs so empty & wished 343 doubled the AI Patrols around the map, Iâm driving in a Hog for 10 mins and only finding like 5 enemies in a path
Overall itâs pretty decent, but Halo 2 & Halo 3 still have the best Campaign
Did you not play infinite? They wonât shut up about what happened following the events of 5.
Even the end of the game is about concluding 5âs story because Infinite doesnât have much of its own story to conclude (and they want to milk it in the future).
Infinite is very much halo 5â sequal, except minus all those budget demanding set pieces and events. Instead we get the cliff notes version.
As did Halo:CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo Reach.
You know, back when halo was good.
You just completely missed the point. In the original Halo trilogy and in Reach and ODST youâre not just a one man army fighting against the current threat, youâre always part of a bigger operation that is bigger than yourself. The best part about the OG Halo games is the story doesnât hinge on the Master Chief. He is simply a suit of armor that you move around. The story itself is progressed by the supporting characters and the military powers at hand. Halo Infinite has a complete lack of this concept and it puts a wet blanket over the entire experience.
Its a 7/10 at best, has an ok story, but the open world just ruins the pacing, all thr things to do in the open world is just a chores checklist, your choices dont matter in the open world.
There are no amazing Halo staple setpices moments, no heart pounding vehicle runs, HVTs are just tacked on. No returning fan favorite characters.
It looks like Halo, but dosnt have anything that makes Halo, Halo. It has all of one biome just repeated throught the whole game. It has one of the weakest and unfun weapon sandboxes in the franchise. As well as vehicle sandboxes.
Its just barely better then Halo 5, yet atill among my least favorite campaigns to play through. Its not a bad game, just not my favorite campaign. Its missing to much for the sake of an open world gimmick.
Loved it. Playing through it again now. Will play through it again when co op comes out
I actually liked the combat very much in the campaign but the whole thing is just a giant waste of time for me because of the whole 24hour DRM in place. My digital download on xbox simply canât be played offline without the buy it screen popping up so offline play isnât a thing. So at this point none of us know if weâll even be able to play the stupid thing down the line because of this authentication and given we can play all the other campaigns just fine, this isnât acceptable to me
Just a massive waste of time and the silly thing is Iâd have supported any DLC no problem but not like this. Uninstalled a couple of months ago and I was way from finishing the campaign. Officially quit the franchise other than enjoying the previous games and no promise of anything 343 says will bring me back
Honestly, the open world made the game feel more like a chore than a campaign. Toward the end of the game i was just flying around everywhere with a Wasp to quickly clean up everything that had to be done. Like heres a high value banished target⌠Iâll just airstrike him. It didnât feel like Halo, it felt unimportant (Like what are the Banished doing while Iâm off collecting armour cosmetics?).
The pacing ruined the experience for me. It might be better in a co-op experience. I should try replaying it to see if i have a better experience now that Iâve put more time into the game.
Would have loved to have more content in the campaign
I really enjoyed the campaign. There are issues with some plot points - sure - and since I went around collecting valour the first playthrough, I ended up with the wasp pretty quickly.
Yeah - no, I really liked it.
I wish I had a reason to play it again. Hopefully theyâll add some achievements with the co-op and some weekly challenges with the level select.
Ha ha turn on thunder catch fog mythic boom an Iwhbyd skulls on Heroic or higher⌠plus there are dolls in the game now.
Thatâs true - they nerfed a bunch of fun stuff like that now, no?
The dolls have been therethe whole time. I found two or three.
Its something that 343 has consistently failed at really.
H4 only had 2 levels where you fought alongside marines.
h5 had 0?
343âs haloâs are always hyper focused on chief and cortana (even when you play as Osiris your main objective is chief whose chasing cortana). I think its part of why their campaigns are just not as well received as the old ones were.
I disagree there are plenty of epic skirmishes you can take part in if you spike the difficulty enough.
When done the gameplay really shines above the other campaigns as your free to engage from your own angles. Whatâs lacking is the challenge of trying to keep your ai buddies alive as they follow you into the silent auditorium etc.strong text
I highly recommend the Thunderstorm, Boom, and Cowbell skulls for really fun, epic engagements. It can make even some of the more mundane encounters very different and very fun.
Running out of save slots lol. Loving this campaign personally.
