After my placement matches i got placed in Platinum 6. i notice a lot of good players in Platinum ( im assuming everyone placed lower) but how in the ___ does a platinum 6 get matched against a champion ? Searching solo
I have no idea how any of it works. I somehow average around gold 5, although my friend who is worse than me has gotten platinum 2 somehow with a kd of less than 0.45, but anyway back to my gold 5, and I went up against two diamonds, an onyx, and a silver in swat game when our team was 2 golds, a silver, and an unranked (although we won, I still dont understand how we ended going up against that big of a “skill gap”)

Nor do I.
Some groups have a guy tank placements with a new account, then group up with high ranked accounts to pull in lower ranked teams. They need to just get rid of the team average and go with the top 2 highest ranks on the team.

rank resetting helps those people with new accounts they can just recycle them each season and do it again.

It’s the sequel to Quantum Leap tv series.
This is the biggest mix of ranks i have ever seen in any season. Most of the time its boosters but if im ranked platinum the highest i should face is diamond. If i get diamond then put me against onyx. can’t believe a platinum 6 matches a champion searching solo.
Even in FFA i got placed diamond and faced champs a couple games.
Yeah the ranks this season are terrible. I just played with a platinum 1 who has played less games with me a k/d of .88 (10 games exactly) and mine is a 1.2 or so right now and I’m a gold 6. After ten games I ranked a gold 4 but my k/d was 1.44 when I was placed. How is a .88 getting placed higher than a 1.44?!?!
Conspiracy theory time: Ranks don’t mean squat and 343 intentionally places you low to incite you to play to get back to where you should be. Feeding off our pride…

It highly depends on who you win against, You were probably getting matched up with golds-Plats
I still have to do my placement matches in team arena and i expect the same thing
I went 0-10 in my placement games of Swat and faced Champions with boosters twice. The entire Arena is pathetic, I’ve never seen a game that was more discouraging to play. Division play is absolutely miserable solo, there is NOTHING in this game I can just hop on and casually enjoy.
I can say without question H5’s playlist management/ranking system/MM system is the worst of any installment IMO.
