What did halo 5 get wrong? compared to h3?

I don’t get it, I mean there were try hards in h3 too, derankers and farmers, there was at least one bad map. So h5 has every single flaw, (except the campaign) that h3 did. So why is it bad? other than the req system I don’t see anything wrong with h5. It had a good weapon balance too. So why is it so terrible?

Its not terrible that statement is all subject to opinion.

Oh buddy the campaign is perfectly flawed in its own special way.

Oh, alright then. Though I’d say Halo 3’s campaign is pretty flawed too, unless that was your intent as well.

Lack of game types and custom options, including split screen.

No PvE other than campaign.

In terms of multiplayer 5 is miles better than 3 in my opinion.

I played H3 the other day and people think H5 maps are small … go look at midship on halo 3 its terrible.

Halo 5’s weapon balance is much better than Halo 3’s. Though I would argue it could benefit from taking some cues from Halo 3’s level of magnetism. Maybe not to that extent, but cut it back somewhat. Some of these headshots I land in SWAT in Halo 5 even I know are nonsense.

Right, because Halo 3’s non-campaign PvE mode was … wait, what?

Midship and terrible in the same -Yoinking!- sentence. The new Halo community never fails to blow my mind. Halo has sucked since Reach. Halo 3 multiplayer was flawed, but was still far superior to Halo 5.

I like H5 more than H3, but they’re in the same wheelhouse and just about every criticism of H5 was roughly applicable to H3.

The dude with the tag “Noble Six” says without a hint of irony.

I don’t think it is terrible, the games industry has just evolved. Halo 3 was the pinnacle of console multiplayer at the time and Halo 5 is just trying to re live that status. I think it’s a great game, but I think that’s why so many people are upset by it.

I think a few more tracks could have been brought back as a sort of callback to the older games, like Halo 3 did (too much, however) But the soundtrack itself is a lot more reminiscent of past games (and remakes) than anyone we’ve had after Marty O’Donnel.

I think more stuff could be given separate of the REQ system, perhaps through achievements or vidmasters, but that’s my take.

At launch it was a bit light on content for a Halo game. The campaign is okay. It doesn’t really feel much like any of the other campaigns. The music is pretty good. Lack of splitscreen isn’t a good thing. But aside from that, Halo 5 is a pretty good game in my opinion. Some people complain for the sake of complaining. Others just want a remake of Halo 3. It might not have gotten everything right, but it sure as hell didn’t get everything wrong.
