The problem is Halo is an arena shooter and BR’s don’t mesh well with arena shooters. It’d work best to create a new experience.
Let’s not forget 343i has the Halo Wars team who can build a BR. No need for another studio.

and look how many years it took to get MCC to were it was in a good spot managing all the diff games. I dont want that in infinite. I play halo to play halo and would rather 343 focus on the arena aspect of the game, wether its competitive, btb or any other mode that still fits within the boundaries and balance already established.
A br would split the game essentially into 2 separate games and would pull recourses and player from one or the other. Thats why i and others would rather if it existed, went the cod warzone route and was separate from the arena game that infinite is.
Why? Compared to what?
Have you watched Apex Legends? Very similar core gameplay loop (minus the Legend system of course)
Halo (in many ways) is a very easy transition. CoD was probably the roughest, but did work out eventually.
Apex is nothing like Halo. And CoD was definitely not the toughest.
That doesn’t really mean it wouldn’t work at all though.
Never said it wouldn’t. Just said it’d work best if it was a new and separate experience.
Counter question why is it so important to you that they are 2 separate games.
I guess you dont know it but the trademark of halo and everything is bount to 343i so it has to be 343 that develope it. Otherwise they would have to sell selected rights which is legally a huge pain…
Back to 2007 Bungie decided to split from MS for activision Deal for Destiny 343 came alive to dedicate itself to the Halo fanchise. Remember how much criticism they recived for Halo 4… Same would happen if another dev would dedicate to a Hallo Battle Royal mode… which would mean the game is going to die…
Now tell me it should not be 343 that develops a Battle Royal mode neither I dont want them to drop Halo for something new (have been to disappointed in Destiny and Bungie)
If it makes you happy make a seperate download/disc/app what ever is no difference…
That would cost ressources aswell… facepalm
You just dont have any valid points all your argumenmts are based that 343 has other stuff to focus on I know that! We are talking about future So the other point is you dont want is… So others cant have it? that is childisch
So focus on the arena contains: balancing (which will be done at some point and when that happend, no more balancing has to be done except they add new maps and gadgets to the game (is that what you want? every season new weapons?) so the main thing after Halo is fully developed (with all modes back ingame , balanced) the only thing left is: new maps and cosmetics and sorry that does not engage more than 20 employees. 343i has 750
As many as are pro, to make it a mode in Infinite.
Strange that a lot of ppl has the tought that they are similar, but that is not the topic
How so? What would be the benefit to it being separate?
again…halo wars is a nice example here. that worked out just fine
its important to me because, halo is was and has always been a fps arena shooter. And i want the main line released games by 343 to be the best versions they can possibly be in that. Which means i want 343 to put all their focus and energy into making halo play and feel like halo, with all the updates, maps and things that come with that.
i dont want the company behind my fav game franchise to divert that attention and those resources to some random other genre because its what all the kids now days like and think is cool to watch on twitch. Halo infinite has alot of potential but also has alot of work that needs done, especially with the new f2p model and seasonal content. having to also support a battle royal on top of the arena modes will do nothing to enhance halos main gamplay that most people play halo for. it would onlydivert attention away from it.
It could be a new experience with new gameplay, new environments, can add to the lore to the universe, gives option to explore past events that has only been explored in the books, and if built from the ground up will be a more overall optimized experience.
What do I mean when I say more overall optimized experience? CoD: Warzone is basically a gametype of MW 2019. As such many issues like the stim glitch for example were never truly fixed because to do so would have cause and effect on the games regular multiplayer experience. Building a battle royal from the ground up removes any worry of affecting the current experience (Infinite in this case) in a negative manner. As the base foundation of the game will be completely separate and new. Overall it’s about building the best possible experience.
I just cant agree with you man.
I interpret now your sight on the topic under the assumption that everything is balanced all the modes like Infection, Firefight, Warzone from Halo 5, Grifball and maybe Invasion from reach are in Infinite.
to summarize it the best of Halo is in the final version of the game Now Halo Infinite hits post launch phase.
What now? what more work is there to engage a whole bunch of developers? New maps, skins and weapons → which will lead to rebalancing once in a while when a new weapon find its way into the game.
Did I miss anything?
You stick a BR on Halo and I’m out. Not every damn game needs a BR. The second you slap a BR into a game it becomes the sole focus of the game. Look what happened with MW and when Warzone was added. The quality of content became crap for people who enjoyed the multiplayer including bugs that were never fixed. This game is a mess as is. I also don’t have any faith that 343 could actually pull it off either. They can’t even run BTB.
No, you should interpret the issue with this topic as that the game is in no way near a final stage of being complete enough to warrant any discussion of any gamemode outside of basic established ones. BTB doesn’t work correctly, and that’s only 24 players.
Once they nail established gamemodes down, and connection issues and engine issues, and we have Forge /custom options that we can work with, then we can talk about BR modes.
Edit: I am with you on the BR tho. I think it could work once everything else is nailed down.
Edit 2: I have faith in the Forge/Custom community, if 343 gives them the tools, they will build it and give the Devs the framework to make it better. Just like Griffball.
That is the basis of my argument all along.
Everything else needs to be done and polished after that we can talk about new stuff like new maps for the arena or new modes like a Battle Royal.
The Game needs to be fixed first I think we do all agree on this.
It could be about not existing.
