Hi everyone, I was mulling over the idea of playing Halo Reach and Halo 4 one last time and leveling up to get as much as I can before the servers shutdown in 3 months.
Although before playing I wanted to ask, what is the current security level in both games? Are there people watching for possible hackers? Is everything automated? Have they ignored everything by now?
I would like to know more than anything to see what I am going to find, and if I should be careful in case I get banned unjustly, or really there is no one watching and I should not play because it is all full of hackers.
I haven’t played OG Reach properly since late 2019 and even back then there were quite a few people cheating/hacking. I’ve seen things like teleporting across the map, flying through the air and up super high, instant head shots etc. Plus there’s the stories of people having their ranks raised (usually to max) or having their commendations completed in the blink of an eye too. I used to report people back then and honestly nothing ever really happened so I doubt it’s policed very much or at all anymore.
You’ll undoubtedly run into someone who abuses these things at some point and if you don’t mind dealing with that I’d say go for it one last time. However also be aware that servers have been acting up badly in the recent months so you might not even be able to play much or up until sunset. Good luck with whatever you decide to do anyways.

I can understand that there are those who put Crs to get all the armor before the servers shut down. But from there to go up to the maximum rank it seems to me to abuse unnecessarily, although I suppose that it does not really matter and it does not hurt anyone. What is worrying is the issue of hackers in online games.

Well technically you need to be max rank to unlock all of the armor as the haunted helmet is only available once you get to Inheritor rank. Regardless, it’s stupid. If you don’t want to put the effort in you don’t deserve the rewards. It means nothing if you cheat your way there. That extends to hacking too. You don’t prove anything by hacking or cheating to gain unfair advantage.
Hopefully you played with no issues at all, I think all the attention of the devs is on Infinite
I play the original halo reach quite frequently. There really doesn’t seem to be that many hackers anywhere.
I think I got booted in Halo 3 because when I try to get into a game of Social Slayer it disconnects me from Xbox Live.
I have the same issue on halo 4
