What comes next? (Ranking)

It took a friend 8 months of credit maxing, and nonstop grifball grinding to become an inheritor in HALO: Reach; however, in Halo 4 players have already achieved 130 (the max level). I am well aware that people still do play video games for the fun of it. As will I continue to play halo 4 till I buy HALO 5. But here’s my thoughts.

Install a tier system for specializations.

Wetworks Tier 1: run silent, assassinations faster
Wetworks Tier 2: Dont show up on radar
Wetworks Tier 3: Invisible on promethean vision

Operator tier 1: Faster recovery time, more health
Operator tier 2: 2x recovery time as Tier 1
operator tier 3: Immune to emp, immune to being stuck by grenades

Pioneer tier 1: Little extra xp
pioneer tier 2: Twice as much as tier 2
Pioneer Tier 3: 2x xp of match

Pathfinder Tier 1: faster cooldown, fast while walking
Pathfinder Tier 2: Sprint with turret (like any other weapon)
Pathfinder Tier 3: turret never overheats

Engineer tier 1: Shows ordinance drop locations
Engineer tier 2: Early access to ordanance
Engineer tier 3: Personal ordinaces automatically equipped, and all timed drops have waypoints.

Stalker Tier 1: 5 seconds of last person that killed you
Stalker Tier 2: Shows last person that killed you till you kill them, or someone new kills you.
Stalker tier 3: Shows waypoint of person that killed you to entire team, with 50xp reward for killing them.

Rogue Tier 1: reduced Recoil when hit
Rogue Tier 2: No recoil when hit
Rogue Tier 3: No Recoil or bloom when firing, and faster rate of fire

Tracker Tier 1: “re-roll” personal ordinance drops
Tracker Tier 2: 2 “Re-rolls” of personal ordinance.With 4 weapon/equipment options.
Tracker Tier 3: Create personalized personal ordinance drops using 343 Format (Letting you choose what kind of rocket launcher/sniper rifle, ect you want, with slightly more favorable odds of getting power weapon.)

That would add 160 additional levels (bringing the new total to 290), making it more prestigious, and game play is more greatly affected by what you chose. giving the player to actually specialize in there preferred game styles. Cause honestly, I can barely notice when I use a specialization, or when they do. I think this would add excitement, and additional level of skill, strategy, and problem solving to defeat your opponents playing style.

Then MAYBE, create 1 specialization at the VERY end, to make it a nice 300 levels, but make it really long to get there, that allows specializations abilities to not take up a tactical or support. In other words, all 8 specializations are active… Plus a tactical package, and support upgrade. But in order for that to be fair, Those 10 levels have to be legendary. (That would be a prize of any players dreams, not an emblem)

I’m pretty sure they’ll add more ranks/specializations in the future.

Although these ideas aren’t as bad, but some things like Invis on Radar is pretty…well overpowered. Maybe if you edit them to make them more balanced then it will be a good idea. c:

I am willing to bet that 343 will add more SR ranks, Armor and specializations in the future. But right now not many players have hit SR 130 yet so there is no point.

Where I agree with you on that, however, we are at a point in HALO 4, that took HALO Reach over 1 year to get to.

As a few of them have already said I believe that 343 is going to make more stuff. I’m only at rank 76, and I haven’t hit that 130 mark. I’ve a feeling though they have something up their sleeve…but I was wondering why it did seem a little easy to get to even my rank as I didn’t really have to start do a little grinding till the last two levels of my specializations.

DO you think it’s fair for people to have access to weapons/loadouts/specialisations that others do not?

I don’t even play every day, not even close, and yet I would’ve been around SR 110-120 if I hadn’t been capped at 70 because I’m european  makes me kinda fear that the game will indeed seem less rewarding after I hit 130, which I expect to do within a month, maybe a month and a half after getting my cap lifted.

These are waaay overpowered, I’m having a hard time deciding which is more overpowerd than the other, anyhow, they’re all overpowered.

Take Operator Tier 3 for example, immune to stickies. You may as well remove stickies alltogether then when everyone is lvl 300, or atleast in 300 lvl matches, same with Wetwork Tier 2, could as well remove radar in 300 lvl matches. Stalker Tier 3, close to everyone will be visible to a team all the time, can put waypoints over players in the custom options. Rouge Tier 3, would result in way faster kill times, making it a “first player to lay eyes on you” matches, meaning that there won’t be as many duels anymore, just a quick death. Tracker Tier 3, there’s going to be way too many power weapons on the maps, especially with engineer where you immediatley equip it.

I’m not one to shout out “this is not Halo” but that gameplay would certainly not play like Halo.

How would you match them up? People at high levels will have a huuuge advantage over lower levels. You can’t have 300 only matches since they’d be very few in the start and not be able to play, since there’d be so few.

Getting to max rank fast is actually good in Halo 4, all gameplay altering content is unlocked and usable.

I’m all for more ranks, but I’d like for it to only contain more armor, colors and emblems.

That would be so incredibly lopsided… The only thing this would do is chase away more players.

Shame how fast this game is dying.

> Shame how fast this game is dying.

Just posting an idea out there dude… Chill out… not like I work for 343 or anywhere close

I respect the fact that you actually came up with arguements I didnt think about (Which honestly I should have… ), but more so in the fact you we able to do so in a respectful manner…

And I would have to agree, that would create an unfair advantage towards new players. (Thats the main reason Im not a big CoD fan).

Thank you

Don’t stop coming up with ideas, and if there’s something we come to think of that you don’t, then that’s natural, we all become blind towards negative things in our own work, therefore it’s important to let others see and hear what you came up with, they can improve your idea, or use it in a whole other way than you intended, or point out faults that you didn’t see.

So, don’t stop coming up with stuff, and do use the forum for critisism, ignore any idiotic response that flame you as a person or the idea and look only for those polite posts. The idiotic responses are good in the way that it bumps the thread and thus gives your thread a new chance. If there are no polite responses, then come back at a later time.

they should just use a refined BPR method… this ranking system is for kids that play XP boosters… Anyone that’s higher then SR 100 right now as obviously smashed campaign commendations or spartan ops commendations…

I would have much preferred a 50 ranking system than this junk or anything similar to Reach…

like seriously like they couldn’t fix the Halo 3 boosting…

this SR rating is made like COD prestige…

I think I should run 343i

If they wanted to get 1 million gamers online at once all the needed to do was leave the game like Halo 3 but with better maps and better graphics…

Now how many of us would have been happy with that

seriously?

jetpacks are stupid
