Do you think 343 will introduce new characters to act as something like Sergeant Johnson, Guilty Spark, Miranda Keyes, and others? Or do you think they’ll still use characters from 4 and 5 primarily? Maybe abandon any secondary characters?
I feel like Lasky and others would have to deal with the gap more directly. The pilot from the new trailer could play some role in the story and Cortana has already been teased. I’ve always loved the secondary characters in the previous trilogy, and I’m just wondering how others see it.
We have so little information at this point, that this is all just speculation, but here we go:
I think Brohammer will be taking on the role of Sergeant Johnson. Maybe not with the same level of bravado and confidence, but he could be the plucky side kick/voice on the radio that Foehammer was in CE (hence the similar nickname). As for the rest, I hope we get Lasky back, but with the same portrayal of him we saw in H4. His H5 portrayal was rather boring and limited. But if he can get a bit more of that spark we saw in H4, then he could be a very good secondary character that fulfills the command role that Lord Hood held in H2 and H3.
Really I just don’t want to see a bunch of new characters again. One of H5’s many faults was the huge cast list. We had over a dozen characters to deal with. So if we can get something simple like: Chief, Cortana, Arbiter (Rtas Vadum as a tertiary character), Brohammer, Lasky (Palmer as a tertiary character), and Halsey, then we might have a recipe for a simple yet interesting story. That’s three main, three secondary, and two tertiary characters. Hopefully that would lead to more than enough screen time for each to be interesting and well developed.
I hope they don’t introduce many new characters. I think the Pilot is a great addition, but I think they have too many other secondary characters. I hope they have the Arbitor is still a character, but I hope they reduce the involvement or remove the following characters altogether.
