What characters do you think should return in Halo Infinite, I would like to see The Arbiter.
to answer your question in the literal sense I would love to see Sergeant Johnson and Miranda Keyes return. as to who I believe will return… I can see the potential of Johnson returning but not confirmed and definitely 343 guilty spark. everyone’s saying guilty spark will not return. but if you read the books you can see he is alive and well and more than likely going to return if not this game, then the next one.
And the Arbiter is basically confirmed. He has not missed a single Halo since Halo 2. I doubt he would be absent. (Exception being Halo 4)
I always liked lasky and roland so i hope they come back in infinite. And buck of course.
The toughest, most cigar chompingest Marine ever, of course. But, if we are being reasonable, Jun, Romeo, Buck, Captain Cutter (continuing some plot threads from HW2), The Didact, and the Gravemind. Though, I suspect most if not all of them will not make an appearance.
I would really love to see Exuberant Witness again! It’d be cool to see the Arbiter again too (though I don’t expect him). Would also like to see Lasky, Roland, Buck, Jun, 343-Guilty-Spark, Cortana (of course), and any of blue team or team osiris IF they are better written this time around…
As to who I expect to see again? Probably Lasky, Roland, Palmer, Cortana, and Halsey.
As for my additional thoughts on some of the characters and if they were to return I’ll start with Palmer.
Palmer could have a really endearing ending in this game in line with her character despite being annoying to many in past games. I’d like to see her make a final last stand as she tries holding off enemy forces while she makes time for Chiefs departure to get away from the soon to be massive blast. As she lays on the ground mortally wounded with an activation device in hand she has the last word as enemies surround her, “So you think you’ve won? Heh heh… Eggheads.” and we immediately see Chief flying a Pelican as the explosion is thoroughly seen and felt.
Since Halo 4 she seemed to be the replacement for Sgt. Johnson but she has failed to be as beloved as him and this kind of ending I think would somewhat fit with his while ending hers on a good note and leaving room for a new more lovable character to take up the mantle.
While I’ve always liked Lasky as a character I think he could use a little push in character development that results with inspiring speeches and heroism that you see from Cutter in the HW games.
Similarly to Lasky, you see some character out of Roland but it seems to be held back. Given the current situation of the Haloverse this could be the moment to really bring out Roland’s hidden traits if he comes back. Whether the character development ended in betrayal or faithful servitude I’d be happy either way.
Exuberant Witness was a joy to be around, similarly to Guilty Spark but arguably even more so! While it’d be nice to see her again I have my doubts about it seeing as her station still exists and I currently see little reason for her to leave it.
I kinda have a dislike of Halsey and am not won over by her seemingly motherly fondness over Chief but her significance in the Haloverse does make me curious as to where they would take the character next.
The only team osiris member I could reasonably see in Halo Infinite if there were to be only one is Tanaka. Seeing as she is an engineer, I could see her being very useful in a Halo venture. At the same time this could be taken as an opportunity to develop her character and making her more relatable to players.
I’d like to see Sarah Palmer return as a redshirt character to be killed off quickly. She was so annoying in Halo 4 and Halo Escalation but glad they reduced her a background character in Halo 5.
I would like to see the return of all the characters from 4, 5, and wars 2. And i hope they all have roles that dont make them bland. I want all the characters to mingle and have things to do and say, reasons to why they are in the game.
The Rookie because the Chief talks too much. Locke with more ONI shenanigans, Osiris, Blue team, Guilty Spark, Halsey. Palmer and Laskey need to be grittier. Exuberant. A broken but still very formidable Didact. The Arbiter. The covies including the Jiralhanae. Penitent Tangent.
Speaking of tangents, normal flesh and blood forerunners, but can’t decide on the level of their technology or civilization. The return of Faber would be awesome but impossible…not unless it was from a last back-up in the Domain. The original 150,000 BCE and current gen San’Shyuum collaborating with ONI. I love the Huragok, so more of them. Green Engineers, like from Last light if parts of the Halo are to be “alive”.
