While I completely get this, I think the classic maps offered varied experiences that Halo 5 and Halo Infinite don’t offer to the same extent (with the exception of Behemoth). Including classic maps would be an easy fix to the lack of variety. Consider Halo 2: Zanzibar played nothing like Waterworks, which played nothing like Headlong, which played nothing like Coagulation, which played nothing like Terminal, which played nothing like Burial Mounds,. All are large scale maps intended for BTB, but they all made use of Halo 2’s gameplay in very different ways, which kept the game fresh and exciting for a bloody long time. Halo 5’s maps, on the other hand, all forced the player to play the exact same way every single time. Halo 5’s maps didn’t offer multiple experiences as Halo 2’s did. It’s a good thing Halo 5’s gameplay was so polished, but due to the lack of varied maps, it still didn’t live up to the potential of a Halo game. The same goes for Halo CE, Halo 3, Halo Reach and even Halo 4 as examples (although Halo 4 DLC did begin to feel samey). These games weren’t afraid to mix things up. They were confident enough in themselves to throw in some unique, perhaps wacky maps, keeping gameplay interesting for a much longer time. If 343i were to pluck a few of classic Halo’s ‘greats’ and place them in Infinite, then Infinite would only be better for it.
Additionally, not every Halo map has been remade. May I remind you of the following:
Boarding Action, Chiron, Rat Race, Danger Canyon, Death Island, Icefields, Gephyrophobia, Backwash, Colossus, Containment, Foundation, Gemini, Terminal, Waterworks, Uplift, Construct, Epitaph, Guardian, Assembly, Narrows, High Ground, Isolation, Snowbound, Ghost Town, Orbital, Rat’s Nest, Sandtrap, Spire, Tempest, Boneyard, Sword Base, Powerhouse, etc. Plenty to choose from.
