Here, if you put the video on slow motion, and set the time stamp on 0:30s, take a look at the left corner on the pelican window, just before the ship gets hit, something passes by the window, and then the “breach detected” warning starts, what it could be? Space junk, part of the Halo wreckage, or something else?
I love this focus on the details, I’ve noticed it while rewatching it unintentionally last night.

Wow, that’s some real good eagle eye work! Kinda looks like space junk to me, but the square shape would suggest otherwise. It could be part of a Halo or maybe a ship belonging to a new enemy faction. I hope it’s the latter and they’re the replacement for the Prometheans.
This post made me appreciate the amount of detail 343i has been putting into these trailers even more. We have all of like 7 minutes of footage and already so much fuel for the hype machine.
Most likely debris from Zeta Halo or a destroyed ship from the presumed battle. The pelican looks like it is struck twice before finally being hit by something large enough to cause a breach.
Might sound crazy here, but I think the breach was a result of Chief smacking into the Pelican after getting thrown by an explosion of sorts.
Probably Zeta Halo or the guardian.

But it seemed like he discovered Chief later on, when he had already grown bear and longer hair when he was notified of friendly presence.
The breach on the other hand, happened during the beginning of the trailer. By the looks of it, if the object was the one flying behind the window then it seemed to be a large clump of rock, though it’s trajectory didn’t seem such as it would cause an impact, unless it hit the wing which force could have broken something in elsewhere on the ship.
So I would go with many others and say it’s likely a debris.
