I would like to start off by asking who the hell thought it would be a good idea to bring camo back? especially now that the maps are 10x larger and the DMR can be used cross map without using half your brain.
I see it more and more! On big team Ragnarok some scrub will be sitting in the base crouched and camo with either the DMR or the sniper he somehow got in the ordnance. I guess i can’t blame him because he’s going to get at least one or two kills doing so, it’s so easy and it’s over powered. Not to mention this game allows him to stay in his base forever without consequence. There’s no more pushing up to get power weapons or map control because they come to him for free now.
But what can be done? I don’t see 343 removing it from the game because they can’t, we’re stuck with this crap. If it was up to me Halo 3 camo would have returned as an ordinance drop lasting all of 30 seconds.
Make a Loadout that has Promethean Vision (even if you don’t use it often) and if you find you’re playing a team that is constantly using Camo and annoying you, start using that Loadout to counter it and see where they’re crouched away trying to creep up on you.
Shorter duration but better camo. You can move slightly faster and the camo still stays effective, but you can’t really cloak for long. Half the time but increase the effectiveness.
Initial fade time increased but otherwise kept the same. Radar disappears while cloaked. No more radar filled with ghosts. Now the cloaked player has NO radar while its active and OTHER players see ghosts.

I tried using PV on a dude using Camo, but it didn’t work?

It definitely does work, they appear in PV as a regular other non-Camo toting Spartan does.
Now, if they’ve completed the Wetwork Specialization, they will have unlocked the Stealth tactical upgrade which reduces the PV effect to just a faint player outline - so maybe that’s what you saw.

Yet people complain about Camo even though they’ve created an effective counter to it.

I’m not saying that either AA is a likeable one, I’m simply saying they created a counter to camo which you cannot deny.
Personally, I liked it better when Active Camo was a map pick up item… a la Halo 2 and 3.

Does PV even help with the OP’s case? I haven’t used it much, but I didn’t think its range could cover half of Ragnorak.
> Camo sends out those incredibly obvious blips on your radar. If you aren’t double checking for it it’s your own fault you died.

What? way to contradict yourself. Adapt isn’t an argument, go play reach.
