I wondering if bumperjuper is the go to thing now with a large part of the community gone?
Or are the default controls still the most used?

I use Recon in Reach and CEA, since they are so similar. If you are looking for the most authentic Combat Evolved layout, then The Duke is the way to go, is identical to original’s layouts when playing on 360. Honestly though, the best layout is whatever you prefer.
Recon using the claw technique. I have been using Recon since Halo 3 and I can’t switch.

I played Halo CE on the PC, so with a keyboard/mouse combo you can move/look/jump/shoot all at the same time. Coming back to Halo for #3 was painful until Bumper Jumper was released.
I would not have bothered picking up Anniversary if it did not have Bumper Jumper.

Bumper Jumper. I wanted to be a better halo player in match making since im a competitive halo player so started looking at the control settings and there it was. I started using it like a year after halo 3 was release and i gotta say it made me an even better player. The ability to jump, shoot, melee and throw a grenade without my thumbs having to leave any of the joy sticks makes me feel like i could deal with any situation flawlessly. I thank Bungie for having these setting and THANK YOU 343i for having it in Halo CEA. I only wish that an update or something would have been made to have bumper jumper in Halo 2 before the servers went down.

Default! I love the way reach made us of the bumper melee, and so for this it seems perfect to me 
Bumped jumper. Switched during me time on Halo 3. I could switch back to default but any of the others would be too much work IMO.
Recon for Reach and CEA, probably because it was most like Halo 3 as others have said. Halo CE for me was on the PC, but I’ve almost given up PC gaming entirely since I got the 360. I sucked at Counterstrike and that really discouraged me from FPSs on the PC. I mean, really, it was getting embarrassing, esp. since I have a Logitech G9 mouse, a G15 keyboard, a decent monitor and gaming computer (not the most modern computer but first gen i7 and a 1GB 4850 which is still good enough to run CS:S), but I was dying at least ten times for every kill I got (mostly through spray and pray). At least I can usually keep a positive kdr on Reach multiplayer.
Now I’m intrigued about this ‘Bumperjumper’: I’ve never tried any of the other control configs, but anything that would make multiplayer better with the standard 360 controller, I’d be interested in learning.
