Every map is a cluster -Yoink-. Offers little to know strategy, just a tiny -Yoink- map where youre going to die non-stop. Does 343i not understand what Halo is? Maps have never been this ridiculously small. Oh and thanks for bland settings instead of giving us something interesting like idk, snow, outside, desert, volvano, or any other setting , so thanks for the no variety. Thanks for making the radar useless and giving grenades out like theyre candy. 343i, im tired of defending you guys. This is honestly the worst arena in all halo games thinks to your -Yoink- tiny maps.
Its meant to be vertical and if you cannot adapt to that than you cannot call yourself a good player to play arena in the beginning. Go play WarZone.
I actually really like the maps in Halo 5. Regret and Orion are my only real dislikes. Regret isn’t terrible, just find it a bit cluttered with very small sight lines.
Im not a fan of majority of the maps. I only really like 3 of them so far, but I’m hoping for some better maps once forge releases.

Every halo game is meant to be vertical. That is a staple to the franchise xD Yet other halo games actually had good level design.
The maps vary from great to atrocious (Orion being a great example “wtf were you thinking” design). What I would really like is just some variety in the matchmaking. Seems like every other game is Rig or Eden, followed by Orion or Pegasus. You’d think there were only four MP maps.
The maps to me just simply don’t have any real flow to them, which either leads to various dead ends, or very similar geometry from the one you just ran past a few seconds ago.
If you look at the maps from Halo 4 to Halo 5, they’re about half the size. The maps in arena are tiny compared to past Halo games. I can’t even play swat anymore because there’s just not enough room to enjoy it. And the spawns make it worse

Pretty much
The only maps in h5 that stand out as good are the ones in breakout you know, the ones designed for esports as the are perfectly symmetrical and offer nothing else but easy to see Spartans the ones in slayer and swat just don’t feel like halo maps to me yes they are symmetrical but for some reason I just hate them
I actually really like all the maps; they’re all well done for Arena. To each their own, I guess.
The maps are pretty big.
If you think these are small I guess you never played wizard, chill out, midship or guardian.
Watching the Halo channel on Twitch: the maps don’t seem to have too many problems for these players. I was observing how the players stay alive so long and I noticed that they actively okay the vertical aspects of the map. They also don’t take the obvious routes and use their abilities to move in ways that don’t lead to a direct confrontation with another player.
I am gonna try to use these movements and routes to improve my scrub game.
With the exception of Rig, I think the maps in Halo 5 are very good.
Rig is total -Yoink- though.
