What branch are the Spartan IV's?

The newest breed of Spartan has got me curious. Every generation of Spartan so far has been Navy (except for the S-I’s).

It’s been stated that the Spartan IV’s are made up of volunteers, but from where? The Marines/ODST’s? All four branches maybe? That would explain the DMR’s return.

I’m going to guess the UNSC.

Oh you :stuck_out_tongue:

> Oh you :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, they could be from ONI, which actually started the Spartan program, but handed over to the UNSC for war assignments.

Hopefully Marines OHH RAH!!!

Just like every SPARTAN-Based project before them, the SPARTAN IV Project was conceived, created, and implemented by the Office of Naval Intelligence(ONI) and they were started up and began training along side/inside ONI’s biggest project, Project/UNSC ‘Infinity’. The ship for which Halo 4’s multiplayer is taking place as well as the biggest dreadnaught that humanity has ever made, plus the first to ever have both human and forerunner tech on it, as well as Engineer’s (the covenant kind) working on it. Wait, if the Infinity is in Halo 4, and was built by both Human and Covenant, wouldn’t that mean that they are still allies? (Sorry but I haven’t read Halo Glasslands, please clarify on this statement and don’t be afraid to spoil me.).

Ninja

> Ninja

That might actually ruin Halo for me.

I’m going to guess Navy.

But if i’m right, Noble Team were Army?

Soo… not all Spartans fall under a specific branch.

No, they captured untortured/unbomb-strapped engineer’s from a Dyson Sphere to work on their projects for them, giving them protection and offering that they won’t harm them.

Engineer’s were made by the Forerunners, not by the Covenant.

All Spartan’s, every single one of them, were based from ONI.

When they were implemented as Soldiers and streamlined into actual operations they were made to be actual soldier’s, just Spartan in style, but over all, they started, always have been, and will end with being ONI.

Human in race.
ONI in branch.

I was talking Military Branch.

Ok. But ONI [Office of Naval Intelligence] isn’t a specific military branch, right?

I’m not saying I’m completely correct on this, but didnt ONI just ‘fund’ the SPARTAN project?

I remember reading back when Reach was in development that the Spartans of Noble Team fell under the branch of ARMY specifically.

I’ll try and find it.

No, ONI founded the SPARTAN Project in all it’s originality.

However, on the technical side, yes, ONI funded it only, but it was their head scientist (I’ll give you 3 guesses on who that may be) who went about finding the kids with the better than normal genes and kidnapped them to turn them into Spartan II’s, effectively starting the project.

Spartan III’s were started by ONI without said Head Scientist’s knowledge with the help and leadership of the Head Scientist’s partner (another person I’ll give you 3 guesses on)

Spartan IV’s were started officially as the Head of ONI’s last order along side Project INIFINITY before she handed over the reigns to her successor (As stated in Glasslands)

but over all, the Spartan Project was officially an ONI project.

As for military branch, the Office of ‘Naval Intelligence’ (that should be enough of a hint).

ONI was basically the intelligence/black operations side of the UNSC, remember, UNSC isnt just a Military, it’s a Military Government.

OK. No need to be a total smartass.

That’s why I said Navy in the beginning. Geez.

OH.

and specifically Noble Team falls under the branch of Joint operations unit.

Didn’t mean to come off as a smart -Yoink-, was merely answering your questions to the best of my knowledge fellow Halo fan =3

Further, NOBLE team was the exception due to their many interactions with the main military itself.

Ok fine, just all the sarcastic, “you should know this” stuff was annoying. :stuck_out_tongue:

but yes, I know NOBLE was the exception for A LOT.
