I have come across various things related to armour in Halo 5 which I (and a large amount of other people) do not like the look of. So, I’m going to be browsing the forums and adding people’s complaints to this list over time and to make life for 343i easier. Hopefully they can implement some of these changes later on or in the next Halo title.
A lot of people liked the ability to earn specific armour sets rather than leaving it to chance. I can agree with this. Let me propose a solution:

You unlock most armours through the REQ system, but you can earn them too by ranking up or completing commendations. So, if a more casual player is not great at levelling up, they can still earn the gear they want. - Skins can only be earned once you have the base set and they can be earned by completing challenges with that armour or again through the REQ system. - A reward for completing the campaign on Legendary. - A REQ pack that is for aesthetic items only. But costs a lot of REQ points.

Armour sets should be divided up into Torso, Undersuit (so those that are not fond of having a coloured one and preferred previous titles’ black one are happy.), Legs, Helmet, Upper Arm and Lower Arm. (I understand how difficult this could be to do so late on in the game’s life and how hard it would be to implement some new armours in the future, but some people feel very restricted in customisation now) - These should all have their own subcategories. Armour, Skin, Accents (Darker/Lighter colours) and Decal (Boolean). This would allow for some interesting colour combinations. Pressing over any of these buttons should let you choose the colour.Teams should be able to override all of the colour settings but nothing else. - Playable Elites. [NOTE: More on this later as I think I may have an idea which will keep balanced gameplay in competitive Arena.)This first 5 are the ones I’m annoyed the most at. This is mainly due to the fact that I have felt that Scout is my signature armour in all Halo titles and that there is no real good-looking skins for it in Halo 5.

Scout Decoys’ helmet should have the darker secondary colour feature removed. It looks terrible. - Scout’s helmet is unnecessarily asymmetrical. Has anyone noticed the fact that the part on the right side that is solid grey is not on the left and is instead a darkened secondary colour? Make it the same to the right without the vertical stripe so it has some of that asymmetry and a lot more people will be happy. - A Halo 4 Scout skin should be added (only without the white decals). - Scout Observer should have its’ secondary colour parts removed. Instead the parts that are permanently white should be your secondary colour. I don’t mind the fact that the primary colour is darker that much compared to other sets, but it should still be your TRUE primary colour. - Same as above with the Scout Outrider. - Same as above with Wetwork and Wetwork Cleaner. The grey decals look okay though. - Helioskrill should have larger shoulder pauldrons like that of Arbiter in H2A. - Smoothen Decimator’s visor. The bumps ruin it a bit. - Prefect and Ricochet should return.
