What armor is less noticeable to opponents?

I’ve tried different armors out every couple weeks n i noticed that Helioskrill armor n helmet attracts more enemy players to shoot first. Probably because of it’s unique design but I’m just curious because i have noticed this. depending on your armor in things like Warzone n BTB, that if an enemy sees a group of enemies he/she will shoot certain players first due to their armor. helioskrill armor n helmet i get targeted way more often when 5 of use are in the area and the person could shoot anyone first but they are more likely to target nightfall first. I wasn’t sure if anyone has noticed this and knows which armor an opponent player will less likely shoot when they are faced with multiple enemies. For me i noticed 50% less likely to be targeted if using Hellcat set. and about slightly less compared to helioskrill if you have Mark 6. Has anyone’s armor they have notice made them less common to be targeted when the enemy seems multiple of you guys in an area?

None.

Seriously, we’re at a point where all the armor is so generic and similar and bland that no one cares anymore.

Do you honestly think people are inspecting which piece of armor you have before they shoot you? No. They’re just shooting you.

Wear what you think looks cool. Use the female player model if you want a more “slender” look. You still have the same hitbox, but whatever floats your boat.

no but its psychological. if you see say 5 opponents n you can target annoy one first, i have noticed when i play with helioskrill im more likely to be the one engaged by the enemy and will fight back and kill them but its just an observation as when i played with with hellcat set. you will be less targeted. test it out. run with a pack, not clustered but spread out, and notice if enemies engage who they will more likely shoot first. its a psychological experiment. they think they are just choosing at random but actually thats actually not very true. certain armor catches their eye more than others.

There’s nothing psychological about it. From just feet away you can’t even tell if a person is wearing Helioskrill. You just see blue/red people you have to shoot and you shoot them.

You’re looking for patterns where there are none.

The only time I notice armor is in the lobby, or if someone bags me and I wanna know who. Never in the heat of battle though

What TV are you using? i can see armor easily from about a BRs distance zoomed just fine. and tell that to the guy who used psychology to win a rock paper scissor challenge by studying people. that game, if it was truly even, would be a 33.3333333333% chance. but he increased his odds to win on a best 3 out of 5 match to win 90% of the time using psychology to tell what his opponent will choose next. and also visor color also increases attraction. brighter colored visors are more likely to be targeted over darker. shapes n colors play a factors. just hugely noticed if not observed.

I actually think OP bring a valid question. Even though the hitboxes are very likely to stay the same, the visibility of each armor/helmet are vasltly different. For instance, the fotus helmet makes you very visible. I stay away from armors with multiple colors as I think they are easier to spot (and usually looks worse). The female spartans are noticable thinner, but I assume the hitboxes are the same. Still, I use the male spartans as I think the female voice is quite annoying. As for armors, I think they mostly look the same. Lastly, I tend to use helmets with small visors.

I hate those helmets with the big horns at the front… Fotus?

I always shoot at them first.

Just so I can cut off the horn, grind it down, and sell the powder on the Chinese black market.

I would think armors with lots of white would attract more attention, but 9/10 I’m shooting at the opponent closest to me, the opponent already shooting at me, or one I can see that’s out of cover. I’m not really thinking “oh that’s a nice Hunter armor set, I’ll shoot him first.”

thats so true now that i think about it, i do shoot them way more than anyone else when i am selecting a target. lol

especially in cover i can see it sticking out on a sore thumb lol. and ya i will target fotus in helioskrill more often, i find its the helmet that does it. all targets have same weapons but those player i find to hit when there is no advantage to who i shoot first, i will hit certain spartans that have unique helmets. so i was wondering what helmet might slightly make the enemy not notice you from a crowed. and even tho female is thinner, it is noticeably makes it less seen because you arent as beefy so its not recognized as quickly. small n nimble can help. and ya i miss that 1 helmet from Halo Reach, i think it was security which had just a small camera lens so it made it way mess noticeable because there wasnt a reflection. so that i do think plays a factor as well. but so far i have notice also less beefy armor. in the end this is small percentile chances of improving odds but if so it can really help. like females, even though they have same hit box, will cause players to still try to aim for that extra distance to the torso. giving you barely of a fraction odd of improvement even though the have the same hitbot, the human instinct still will play to try to make sure its over the body mass even tho technically if they fired where the make body would show it would be the same. in GoW3 people picked females a lot of times because of this. the devs even said they had same hitboxes but people picked female because of this.

Okay, if you’re in a flat area of Arena, there are two of your team and two of them. You have Helioskrill, your friend has nightfall. Since you stick out more, they will subconsciously target you first. It’s like how if people don’t know the answer to multiple choice, most people pick C(unless it is way off)

I just pick someone to shoot, generally the closest one to me or based on what weapon they have. I don’t think people have time to pick who to shoot based of what armor they wear as then you give them more time to shoot at you.

Chameleon Armour

If it was in game.

Helmets like fotus and helioskrill are higher so can poke over ledges/walls more but 99% of the time armour doesn’t matter much. Not like it ever did.

I think some armors are more noticeable than others. For example, armors with large colored areas, such as Aviator Delta and Strider. Those armor sets have huge white areas that contrast with red and blue. They’re more likely to draw my attention than all red or all blue armor sets.

Please tell me you don’t pick your armor based off of that? I swear Fotus’ are easier to headshot though.

If you’re right then I would go with scout helmet (the one with the darker tint) the midnight visor and a very slim armor like fenrir

exactly, and i was wondering if there is a helmet people seem to notice less over others.

its a subconscious thing. see there is no such thing as free will. people believe it but there isn’t. Like how that one guy said about people pick Con test when they dont know the answer or the guy who proved in a rock paper scissor game, which is suppose to be a random 33.3333% chance winning, he increased his odds by figuring out how many more times people will pick rock first and if they pick rock, which will they pick next. it’s a mind game. Shapes n colors play with people’s minds.

ill try it out n see how that works

Agree with any larger size helmet being easier to see and headshot.

I love getting a bead on someone wearing a FOTUS helmet…please…more players wear the FOTUS!!
