I have seen a lot of ppl talking about the BR the DMR, the carabine and the Light Rifle, but what do you think about the sniper rifle, I mean for the first time we Have 3 different snipers.
We Have SRS99, Beam Rifle, and Binary Rifle, which one is your favorite.
-Since Halo CE to Halo Reach I have always been inlove of the Classic UNSC SRS, so now at Halo 4 I will be glad to use it again.
-I never was a fan of Beam Rifle on Halo 2 (those Jackals on Legendary made me hate it) but I started to use it more on Halo 3 (Team Snipers). Then with the Focus Rifle I knew I never valued too much the Beam Rifle as it deserved it, now I’m really happy it will be back in Halo 4 as I’m also happy with the return of the Covenant Carbine.
-The Binary Rifle seems pretty good for me, I’m excited to evaporate my enemies with that sniper but still we haven’t saw too much difference between this and the Beam Rifle, only that feature all the Promethean weapons share.

personaly, i hate snipers. today i played a game of halo 3 and some guy on my team wasted our banshee so he could get into a nice camping spot with it, and spent half the game there and only got two kills. (then i realized what he was doing and shot him >:D )
i get that some people enjoy snipers, but i think that they would be best if they were only in the team snipers playlist, instead of poluting the rest of the game modes.

Doesn’t look as good as the Halo 3 sniper was.
But I think they are trying to make it more difficult to use on purpose, and turn it into an even more important power weapon.
I’m just happy to have the beam rifle back, and the horrible, dirty focus rifle gone!

I see your point, but just because of some kids using it bad, doesn’t mean it’s a bad weapon. One of the reasons I stoped playing Team Snipers was the feeling of everyone with sniper so it’s not really that exciting to play snipers for the people who enjoy it (at least not for me).
Me for example, I hate any kind of explosives; Rocket Launcher, granades, even the Scorpion, I hate them, but I recognize they are part of Halo and they need to be in Halo to be Halo
I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on a BiRi.
Sniper Rifle looks pretty difficult to use from what the gameplay shows. The Beam Rifle looks pretty much the same, although I’ll have to try it before I determine anything.
The BiRi, on the other hand… it looks like it will be awesome. I think I’d lump it with somewhere between the Heavy Power Weapons (eg. Splaser) and the Sniper Weapons though, rather than just the Sniper Weapons. 1-hit to the body is a pretty huge deal.
The Binary Rifle “BiRi” sounds OP. 1sk anywhere, I don’t like.

It has 2 shots before reload, 6 shots total. It has no accuracy unless zoomed in. It shines a laser in the direction that you’re pointing. It has no aim assist whatsoever, or failing that, it has negligible aim assist.
Sounds balanced to me. If not, then you can just compare it to the Splaser as a Heavy Power Weapon rather than as a Sniper Weapon.

Well then…that escalated quickly.
I like the sniper rifles they don’t look good as halo 3 but play good as halo 3!

I’m pretty good with the Spartan laser at close range thanks to BTB Heavys in Reach where I honed my skills. Anybody who can point and shoot can score a kill at any range with practice.
I’m sort of player that most of people hate, If there is a sniper, I’m going to use it. I’ve always preferred snipers or marksman rifles in FPS games. I’m not self-proclaimed pro sniper who betrays teammates for it though.
I haven’t seen enough gameplay to say my final opinion, but they look good, aside from Binary Rifle, I don’t like the idea of 1sk kill, .50 cal version of Halo.
Love sniping. Hating getting sniped. Can’t wait to try them all out.

Not much to talk about. To me it is just another power weapon
They all have their advantages and disadvantages. I am happy to see some variety, though. It could be argued that the variety increases the game’s complexity, but I see it as adding to the game’s fun-factor, as opposed to just making things more complicated with a bunch of weapons that, in essence, have the same functionality.
