This is a hypothetical question but what if the campaign was horrible? What if the multiplayer was filled with trolls and OP perks and loadouts and AAs? What would you do?
Me, I would give up on halo, my favorite series, 343 and xbox in general. I would probably find a new hobby.

Keep on playing it like I did with Halo: Reach.
Well people say that Reach sucks, yet I still love it and play it all the time. So, if Halo 4 “sucks”, I’ll probably still enjoy it very much and play it all the time too.
I would probably complain like everyone else and wait for the next Halo game.
But I don’t think that will happen. 
P.s: When I say complain, I mean positively complain.
I don’t think like that. I would have a much better response if I play Halo 4 and it actually sucks. The games isn’t even out yet so…I haven’t got a -Yoinking!- idea.
But if people say it sucks and I find it awesome, I’ll continue playing (Like Reach)

I will try to find good things with Halo 4, there are always ups and downs, ignore the downs and enjoy the ups man…
If Halo winds up sucking and becoming a trash series, I’ll stop buying it and Xbox as its the only thing that -Yoink!- provides that is worthwhile. But I REALLY don’t think Halo 4 will be bad, infact I think it’ll be one of the best games of the year.
i would march right down to my local internet, scream bloody murder, insult all the 343 employees and their children, sell all of my worldly possessions, grow a (longer) beard, move to a cabin in the woods and contemplate the nature of life for the rest of my lonely days.

IF it was like what the OP was saying then prob just go back to a combo of halo 3/wars/reach and wait for this all to blow over
If Halo 4 was absolutely terrible, I’d simply reverse how I looked at the game and find positives about it to work with. No game is perfect, but no game is terrible enough to quit if you like something about it…
I won’t dislike it. People said Halo Reach was a terrible game, yet it’s my favourite game after Halo 3.
At least I’ll have the campaign, spartan ops, custom games and forge to keep me going for a few years if the multiplayer “sucks”.

They’d still have the opportunity to improve/fix their mistakes in the next game, so I wouldn’t give up completely. I’d merely be less excited and more cautious about the next title.
