So we know that Halo Infinite’s multiplayer will have “fracture events” meaning they’ll be in game special events that are non canon to Halo lore.
What do we think are some possible fracture events?
Is it going to all be stuff like the new samurai armor which we’ve seen? Or is it going to be absolutely insane stuff like “Your customized Spartan falls into a parallel dimension and meets The Mandalorian and Baby Grogu”?
Please post your opinions, I wanna know what everyone thinks, and what they want to see in these events.
I think fracture events are just a way for 343 to make non-canonical armors inspired from things that would otherwise need some serious mental gymnastics to be justified in the lore. Like there isn’t really any reason why the Yoroi armor core would exist in-canon, it’s an entire armor series of samurai stuff. Mjolnir in-canon isn’t commercially available or viable, so why would there be 50 different samurai helmets? That kinda thing.
Tbh, I don’t see cross-over armor cores happening. I certainly see more cores coming that are inspired by various cultures or genres. For crossovers, I could see armor kits coming out that are clearly homages to their source material, like Hayabusa in Halo 3. Less, literally doom guy’s model, more Halo-ey Doom Guy, y’know?
As for other content, After seeing the Jurrasic Park Warthog in MCC, I expect vehicle skins to possibly end up referencing pop culture where applicable, or, to draw from DOOM again, maybe a Personal AI with Samuel Hayden’s voice who clearly is a reference to him. Bungie and Microsoft have been in cahoots lately, maybe we’ll see a Shaxx Personal AI or alternate announcer. That kinda stuff.
as long as it keeps staying reasonable halo stuff like the yoroi, things that i can go “yeah this looks like something an alternate halo timeline would make” im fine, anything from other franchises would just ruin the multiplayer aesthetically for me. unless they added a way to hide them.
I think they are just a way for 343 to make flashier, more out there armor, without having to make some contrived lore to appease the fans. I for one, totally support this idea. I hope my spartan can look like a badass Forerunner warrior servant someday.
I think it will allow 343 to make cool armor based off old or modern armors. Like the samurai armor.
Would be pretty cool to have “Plate armor” styled armors in Infinite as an event.
I don’t like to build unfounded unrealistic expectations for unreleased content. But if I don’t see the Praetor armour from Doom’16 make an appearance at some point I’m going to be absolutely livid.
i honestly hope they stay far away from promotional stuff unless its with other MS franchises and even then, ehhhh. Just do what they are doing now, samurai, centaurian, gladiator whatever. I can see them doing halloween and xmas stuff through this though I do think there is a limit to silliness I can handle
I feel like it’ll be used for all sort of ip tie in cosmetics/AI/and camos.
I’d like if it meant crazy stuff like what if mission.
Eg:what if blue team was on halo?
What is blue team was Marcus, baird, Coletrain and dom?
What if doom guy fought the covenant.
What is chief was the dragon born.
That sort of good stuff
While it may be seen as a way to just monetize cosmetics, its nit game breaking or pay to win, so its not that big of a deal.
I rather like the idea of theme/inspired armor sets. Imagine a retro/throwback fracture event when you get to use a Fallout inspired Power armor, or a Praetor suit from Doom, or a COG armor from Gears of War. I use the word “inspired” becuase a copy-paste would be lame and lazy. Make it look like an alternative Halo-verse, but take inspiration from other Xbox franchises. It would open up alot of possibilities for players to craft thier own unique Spartan, and give so much needed, alternative universe flair to the franchise.
But we gamers, especially Halo-fans, can be fickle, so I see this being a big problem for some and a way to argue against microtransactions of any sort.

I do hope they’d be willing to add more MS franchises in. I would actually want the Spacer’s Choice moon man helmet. It’s not the best choice… it’s Spacer’s Choice!

personally i think that be too much. It still needs to look like armor for me so a big ole moon just seems ridiculous. Maybe pull something from the armor sets that they would use in the game

Ske7ch wasn’t referring to the multiplayer leaks it was the campaign leaks which he tweeted about.
