What are we doing with ranked?

This rank structure rewards players getting high kill games with positive K/D over participation in the objective.

If you lose a game but you focus on high kill count with high K/D ratio you either will lose little to no points or even stay exactly where you are at completely having disregard for the objective mode.

If you lose a game but focus on objective and you break even on your K/D you lose a significantly larger amount of rank points regardless if you have 85% of the activity on the objective for your team.

This system seems completely off, i have games where my whole team is diamonds going against platinum players and we gain 30% progression in rank off the win, then I have games going against onyx players with people on my team that are still doing placement matches and if we lose I’ll de-rank.

I want consistency, I want the simple win or lose system. I have guys that focus on 3.0 K/Ds instead of capturing the flag every game and I’m assuming that wasn’t 343i intent when they designed competitive.

It’s a terrible system. Reached Onyx 1510 and was bored of it, I only play it for the settings. Not that it was some highlight match, but I went 25-20 with the most ball carry time and WON, but ranked down 10%… this is not satisfactory. 1-50 style win or lose is simple and best. Also the grind from the cellar to the roof was always fun, being placed near the roof to start diminishes this. Anything to shield the bottom % it seems.
