What are the physics behind halos

So if a halo (which is a circle that spins in space has artaficial gravity) what is it that creates that force. My thoughts on the matter are that it uses centripetal force to creat a force that is like gravity but not exactly the same. Also we could do the same if we found a way to contain an atmosphere without a solid barrier. I mean how cool would it be to live on an actual halo.

It’d be…interesting, at the very least. I don’t know how I’d feel about living on a Halo ring though.

You’re right, Halos use centripetal force for their gravity systems.

Mind providing a source? Because as far as I know there are gravity generators that produce gravity and the abbiloty to conatin an atmosphere on the ring.

The halos actually come from a very old sci fi thought, artificial inhabitation in space. They have been explored a lot and the basic premise is that they use centrifugal forces to generate gravity, but as for halos in ‘halo’ im pretty sure they use gravity generators as in all of the media we’ve seen them in they never seem to be spinning.

Would be be great to get clarification on this.
