Based off what We’ve seen in Halo 4 and 5, and what we’ve read from the books in between those games, whats probably going to transpire in the next main Halo? There are quite a few plot threads out there, some better than others, and I feel I’ve lost track of what might happen in the next title or two.

In all seriousness,I can t really say what we have to await,the changes between 4and 5 are big,however I think between 5and 6 the changes arent so big.
A goal/plot thing will be that we fight the Created and their Allies.
Dont ask me how the Banished fit in,we dont even know if they survive HW2.
Its going to be two parts. One this wider threat posed by Cortana’s plan, probably using Composer/Halo to turn everybody into AI. The second on Chief facing the personal dilemma about what to do about her.
Now, it depends on if Cortana wants to selectively use the Halo array to just destroy her enemies or if shes going for the Synthesis ending. If its the former, then I imagine if the below happens then the Warden/Other Created will betray her and try to fire all of the Array.
Basically the Chief is going to come under a lot of pressure to kill Cortana because by this point she is close to winning and has killed potentially billions of sentient lives. It might even have such a plan set in motion. But, I think a plot twist will be revealed (rampancy, logic plague, etc) that means the Chief can instead try to save Cortana by curing her of whatever has made her evil. So like in Halo 4, potentially jeopardizing the plan, he goes off and does his own thing uncertain if this will work.
The plan to kill Cortana. I am guessing they’re going to go full on Mass Effect 3 when they assault Earth. Just throw everything they have at her. But shes on the brink of winning and the plan to kill her fails. Finally, Chief manages to cure Cortana and she realizes the full horror of what shes done.
Realizing that Cortana is about to go back on everything she has accomplished, the Created and Warden betray Cortana. This will either force Cortana completely out of the Domain and leave her with Chief. Or, she remains in the Domain and theres a full Civil War between the Prometheans. Warden tries to fire all of the Array and the Chief faces him. Chief destroys his physical forms and then Cortana destroys his mind. Some of the Created escape with whats left of their forces whilst Cortana leaves the Domain (assuming she isn’t forced out).
When the Chief returns to the UNSC, who will rightly want Cortana dead, he lies about her still being alive and we have an after credits scene where its revealed shes still alive.
A big issue with the above story is
1 - Cortana needs to be a lot less powerful and potentially kicked out the Domain. Cortana controls all Forerunner Tech. The Reclaimer Saga ends when humanity gets control of Forerunner Tech. So that can’t happen.
2 - The UNSC and everyone who isn’t the Chief needs to have a believable and natural attitude towards Cortana. They should have utterly no sympathy for Chief wanting to redeem her or even the notion that she can. To them, shes Skynet; end of discussion. I do not want to see Laskey and Locke agreeing to go along with Chiefs plan and being okay with Cortana going free and not destroyed; under any circumstances.
Since, it hopefully happens on a Halo Ring again, I want the Flood to return, I really want to know what they look like with the updated graphics and everything.
Lot of -Yoink- going on. The created, the banished, the ark is back in play, we have 11 active SIIs still in the picture. The infinity is getting the hell outta dodge. And the potential return of the flood.
And currently blue team, Osiris , Thel , Halsey , and Palmer are all together. This should be interesting.
I have not a clue what could be the focus of Halo 6.
