What are some of the reasons that Halo:Infinite cant retain players?(Feedback)

The main reason it has struggled to retain me is the tweaks to aiming on controller. From sensitivity/acceleration to reticle friction and aim assist. All of it was changed from the standard set by the franchise. And I’ve never been against making aiming just a little bit harder on controller, but at this point they’ve sacrificed the comfort of a smooth aim acceleration curve and a nice reticle friction bubble to make it happen. And then overcorrected when they likely realized in testing it felt unplayable by juicing up the aim assist itself. Instead they should have kept the aiming and reticle friction virtually unchanged and just weakened the aim assist pull. Done the exact opposite of what they did.

2 quick ones
Barely any stats
Making the most hardcore halo players wait 2 years for watchdog after giving it away for free right after launch.
They seriouly did/are doing this
Edit one more
Claiming infinite would be the spiritual reboot of halo.

Promising no FOMO, yet they vaulted store items and event items.

They vault store items?

yeah, if i remember, i’ve seen items say they’re vaulted, or were around for a certain season.

I would play every day, I haven’t really because no progression to anything, desync is annoying and content has been lacking, although since 343 dropped custom games browser early iv’e been on it more, when season 3 comes I’ll be playing more often than I have been.

Halo has always been my go to game, never really liked any other fps apart from Titanfall 2. I tend to stay away from cod and bf mainly as too much real world war stuff going on in the world.

They are not actually vaulted they just have really bad wording. Mint Blitz did a video saying that was just 343’s way of saying they weren’t in the shop currently.

I’ve been playing since Halo 1 multiplayer was exclusive to LAN parties, that doesn’t mean I have any special authority, but I do have a history with Halo multiplayer that spans the better part of 20 years: A full career, so…

My BIGGEST gripe about Halo Infinite: A multiplayer admin team who controls a matchmaking system that will NOT let you search for game types you want to play while excluding others, which in reality is probably a tweak to the code that wouldn’t be impossible because it’s basically a modified database query with inclusions and exclusions. (I assume)

As a software engineer, I call BS. As a player, I find it frustrating that I’m being thrust into game types I absolutely despise. Read carefully: I do not want to ever have to play shotty snipers ever again. Why is that a problem?

Its not that much better. since the store has such a limited number of options at one time, the more things they add, the rarer it is that something old will show up.

Missed buying something S1? It might show up eventually, better check the shop every day!

Because the gameplay as it stands is sh!!!t!

Campaign is boring, buggy and killed satisfying vehicle travel.

Multiplayer doesn’t work the way it’s supposed too.

Ok I’m wrong about having worse hit reg etc while playing against computer players. Delusional I know. I guess I stopped playing with longtime friends because I’m a loner

Desync STILL ruins the experience
Majority of new weapons are lackluster
Matchmaking is horrid
It’s just not fun :man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging:

Just had two games where I got lots of kills legendary/epic medals… third game odd ball teamates have the ball laying right in front of them half the time thinking they are trapping somebody. They die quickly opposing team picks up the ball and runs back towards safety… this is a prime example

Do they use KBM or controller on PC? If they’re using controller, it’s the same exact game as it is on console. If they’re using KBM then yeah, I can see why you don’t want to play with them. With PC, you get more graphic options and may get better performance than on console, depending on your hardware. If your reasoning for going to PC is to try it out on the KBM side, just hook a KBM up to your Xbox.
[/quote] Emphasis added.

You just contradicted yourself here. Different hardware is different performance.

End crossplay.

It happens to me way to often… Most of the time Im the only one on my team that knows what to do but my other team mates play like AI with 1 brain cell while the other team is all on Comms/Party and calling out everything and because Im doing well, I end up getting neutralized by the other team.

The Match making needs work but its not much for 343i to work with when the player count is poor…

I’m not dismissing you’re having hit reg and other “networking” issues, but to solely point those issues at PC is not correct and with a sub 4k player count from Steam, I highly doubt PC is your issue.

No, I did not. Different hardware is different performance, that’s for the end user but we are all on the same server. Everybody is sending and receiving info at the same rate, regardless of hardware performance. They are too many variables when it comes to networking issues. Most of which are out of 343i’s hands and fall on to the user.

I had a friend that I used to play StarCraft 1 with after school he had cable internet and I was stuck on old deli up internet so he usually was waiting for me to lode the games to join him.

One day my family computer borke down so we had to sent it back in to be fixed when we got it back it had the same problem again this happened more than 4 times so the company just gave us one of there newer Pc it was much bigger than are older one like nearly the size of a Gaming pc out there to day.

So when I had time again after school I played Starcraft 1 with my friend. But this time it was different not only did I lode in the game way faster than he did I had to wait for hem to lode in his game. He was a little brother by the fact that he’s cable internet wasn’t out running my show deli up but It wasn’t the Internet fault it was that the newer Computer was reading data way faster than his Pc could keep up with. So even with date giting to his Pc first form the faster cable internet I was still able to beat him with just having the faster loading time in the new hardware.

Well honestly, like me and thousands of other players the reason we arnt playing Infinite is because there is no … infection. Its a hugely popular mode and 343 know this. Boggles my mind that they havnt implemeted it yet.
I have 90 friends on Halo 5, not one of them play Infinite because there is no ranked slayer and no infection. The infection community is huge, if they release it thousands of players will return.

SBMM is another huge factor. Solo queueing in this game is downright miserable. Any average/slightly above average player will be constantly saddled with at least 2 teammates who don’t know how to operate a controller. And the solution is not to choose your own teammates, because leaving solo queueing as miserable as it is, is a big part of why no one touches the game.
This was my first match back after reinstalling the game

That’s 4 players, half a lobby, just getting dumped on, sitting at the respawn screen the entire match. This kind of team matching is a consistent behavior from the matchmaking system. Now obviously there’s more than one lobby at a time, probably dozens or hundreds of games being played at any one time. And you’re telling me they can’t simply take 4 shyte players from lobby #1, and 4 shyte players from lobby #2, and make a full lobby of similarly skilled players? Obviously this will result in the better players having to wait a little longer to get a full lobby of players at their skill level, but with search times currently under 20 seconds for most playlists they can definitely afford the make search times a little longer for the sake of having closer intra-team matching.
inb4 “low pop”, that argument doesn’t cut it when the game is throwing lobbies together under 15 seconds
