What are pulse grenades used for?

I can’t find out what pulse grenades are good for. Is there a certain enemy or vehicle weak against it? What are they suposed to do? Can anyone help me with this? I’m just curious - I don’t know why pulse grenades are in the game, they don’t really do anything.

They look pretty and there fun to use

> They look pretty and there fun to use

but what exactly do they do? I havn’t seen any really do any damage to anything

and how are they fun?

If something is in the radius of the grenade, it will train their shields fast and can kill if in there long enough. Not sure if they have been edited online but offline, if they’re used correctly, they’re damn good.

They are 99% useless compared to the other 2 grenades.

Lolpulsenades…

Seriously, i have had 1 KILL since launch with them.

Kinda weak.

Their sole purpose in life is to drive people insane trying to complete the Commendations for them.

When I’ve run out of ammo and i’m desperately throwing random stuff at someone - normally pots, pans, tea-cups there’s normally a pulse 'nade or 2 in there some where…

I normally die.

They’re used for blocking pathways so that enemies have to maneuver more. Use them on objective sites.

They wreck stationary vehicles.
They wreck stationary people.

They’re umm , they’re orange …

They EMP your shields and kill you if you remain within the sphere as they implode.

Not true. I love it when I throw them at someone feet. And they run through’em, then BAM! Head shot with my light rifle. They’re awesome set up grenades.

They’re actually useful. I use them to drain my opponents’ shields before I pop their heads with my LightRifle.

It’s like an EMP grenade, it drains shields so you have it easier to kill the target. This is from my experience, it is hard to get kills with as I mean the grenade itself kills the target not you finishing them off.

this…it drains the shields of anyone caught in its wake, so throw and empty a clip into anyone nearby

Works well on Regicide, especially Haven

I have them mastered, they are amazing if used right and if you have the perk that allows you to spawn with two of them at all times.

They are my go to grenades and are godly if used intelligently with radar.

Imo, pulse grenades can be more effective than frags and definitely plasmas given the right situation. Pulse grenades are great for crowd control. The enemy team is trying to rush you? Drop down a pulse grenade or two to push them back.

They’re a tricky grenade to use and combined with the fact that you only get one (as opposed to two frags or plasmas) makes them understandably unpopular. But they do have some benefits.

  • The almost-instant explosion as soon as they touch, and the slight hop-up, make them good for finishing off enemies with weak shields, and also make them probably the best grenade for using against enemies who are above you (unless you’re a real demon and can predict the frag’s bounces reliably).

  • Area of denial makes the Pulse a great grenade to pick in many objective games. Suddenly that terminal, hill or doorway doesn’t look so tempting for your opponent, if only for a crucial couple of seconds.

  • EMP/shield stripping effect to anything stupid enough to walk through the sphere. I find that this mostly happens when I throw a Pulse behind a retreating opponent, they’re then trapped between me and the Pulse and will often damage or kill themselves by backpedaling into the area of effect.

  • The final implosion blast disintegrates stuff!

  • Surprisingly powerful against stationary or slow-moving vehicles. Get an enemy Warthog to roll and throw a Pulse to where it’s going to come to a rest, you might be pleasantly surprised.

They taste great in a salad
